Re: R1200R vs. K1200R
Took a K1300R for a spin when they first came out. The police car following behind meant that I might as well have had 60 hp on tap rather than the 160 hp at the other end of the throttle. It had the quick-shift fitted which worked beautifully. Overall thoughts: awesome silky smooth power and gear b...

The bike may be gone, but your wisdom is still there.
Hope you will still be a reader and valuable contributor to this forum.
Very pleased about your long term prognosis.
Cheers and best wishes.

Re: Steering Damper Question
Thanks for that info LostRider, and to all those who have posted their shockie advice over the years. Ordered mine from Kyle's yesterday - usually overseas deliveries to Oz from Stateside are fairly fast so not too long to wait. Even though mine is 4 years old, it only had 13000 km on the clock befo...

Which Wilbers?
For those of you with Wilbers shocks, which type would you recommend for the rear - the 640, 641 or 642 ? The roads around my neck of the woods are not brilliant with a good wet season leaving its share of pot holes. Most of my riding is 1 up (70 kg / 155 lbs) around town with occasional longer trip...

Re: Great ride, great bike
The F800GS mirrors really reduced the vibrations to the point they are actually useful. Make sure you get the fitting for the GS mirror that goes into the R's clamp on the handle bars. One of the mirrors already had this fixing in its box, but the other didn't, so I just had to wait a couple of days...

Re: Great ride, great bike
Yes, that certainly was Carson's Lookout. Bill's advice is good - that oil cooler certainly needs screening. I'll give Radguard a call next week to see if they are willing to sell a bit of mesh. I am also thinking of getting a set of those Wunderlich hand guards. The tank bag can be ditched next out...

Great ride, great bike
Just got back form 9 day 5000 k Australian odyssey through Queensland and New South Wales searching for the best bike roads with 3 friends. Our group comprised my R1200R, an R1200GS, a K1200R and a K1200S. Each bike, although quite different, suited their riders perfectly. The weather was rubbish, b...

Re: What is a good price for a new R12R with these options?
This is probably a fair price given the plummeting Aussie dollar. I ordered an R1200R with: Panniers Pannier mountings & rack Top box Lock barrels for panniers & t/box Touring screen Fitting kit for screen Centre stand ABS Trip computer Tyre pressure monitor Cylinder head protectors Traction...
