Re: NineT Owners Photo Thread

OK, so I'm back..... :D After almost five years with the K1200GT as a daily driver I picked up my R nineT on Friday afternoon from Cross Country BMW in Metuchen NJ. I had put a deposit on one on November and got the call last week that it had come in. Maire from Cross Country took good care of me. I...

Re: New member with R1200ST questions

I had an '05 for three years which I traded in last July for a new GT. I loved the ST from the minute I test rode it. An all around great bike which was my daily driver. The only change I had to make was the installation of the risers -I think they were Verholen.

You'll love it !

Doing therapy again(2 months). This time for a bulging disc in my back. Should be ready in 2 weeks. :D This getting old crap sucks! How about you? You going to make a cameo appearance? :-k Oh man that sucks ! But I sure know about spinal discs that are past their service life; and yes I...

Re: 100 Days Until Harriman Bash

Hey guys - TT chiming in...Just found out I'll be at a conference in Atlanta the earlier part of that week. I'm thinking of riding down to ATL and then passing through Harriman on my way back to NJ. Hope to see you all then.

Re: Going to the dealer this friday to buy my bike

BMW Manhattan will deal; my buddy bought a new K12GT from them last year and they knocked about $2K off. While we were there they had 2 x R1200RT's that were MSRP'd at over $18K and were both sold that day for $15.5K. Ask them about the weekend test ride. Carolyn from there calls me every so often a...

Re: MOA Rally?

As the rally gets closer, and plans solidify, this board will be full of riders coordinating. Stay close to the Group rides Section. Collect cell phone numbers via PM for those that are coming from behind you. That's how I met TonyT and his crew and it's now a family affair, well past motorcycles.....

Re: Time for a new bike!

Nice move putting the squeeze on Atlanta BMW, I've been to that shop a bunch of times. The part of IBM I work for (IBM Internet Security Systems) is HQ'd in Atlanta (by Sandy Springs) so I go down there quite a bit. I stop in the dealer occasionally to see what's up. I ran into Nate Kern there about...

Re: What is your favorite gear line up?

I like the BMW gear - I've got the Savanna, Santiago, Black Reflect leather, and the Airflow 2 suits. I like the tan BMW Summer pants which I wear all the time. For when I need to wear slacks I use the BMW cover pants. I really like my Draggin Jeans also. Also the BMW Club 2 jacket. The BMW leather ...

Re: Riding to Gillette?

Just got back Monday afternoon from the Rally. Since we each only had a week off to save time I drove out with a couple of buddies; Big Josh (K1200LT), and Tony K-Bike (K1200GT). It was just about 2000 miles from NJ so we handled the driving in shifts and made it out to the site at 0500 Wednesday mo...

Looking forward to meeting everybody. Look for the Jolly Roger hanging off the Thule trailer; we'll be in the water/electric RV area.

Re: Well I am BMW less

Decorate the tow vehicle with MADE IN Alabama stickers. Probably picking nits here, but I believe the G-wagens are put together in the der Fatherland. The MLs are screwed together in 'Bama. Tony, that's a G500, right? Mike's comment is funny but, yes, the G's are made in Germany; the other SUV's ar...

Re: Riding to Gillette?

Tony, I see you have a R50/5 -- me too, mines a 71. Here's a pic of it at Antietam battlefield in Maryland, I rode over there while attending the Square Root Rally. Naturally I rode it from home and back. http://home.comcast.net/~mogu83/Antietam.jpg Harry that's a great looking bike. You and I defi...

Re: Riding to Gillette?

Well - at least it's an enclosed trailer. You could always put some Harley stickers on the outside then, hopefully, no one will guess that you are trailering some of BMWs best long distence touring bikes. If you see an old guy with long white hair riding West on a black R1200R with Jersey plates sa...
