Re: Tyres

My tire of choice is a Metzeler RoadTec Z6. I used Z4's back in the day and found the Z6's to be a nice improvment.

I went from an r1150r to the K12. I have been nothing but happy with the upgrade. Smooth, super quick, great suspension, great sound and very unique looking bike, which I like with all the cookie cutter bikes out there. Gets plenty of looks to. The gear box is a bit clunky from 1st to 2nd gear and t...

My experience has been that the higher I get in the rpm range, the smoother the bike feels. The only vibration I really notice in passing thru 6-7k rpm's, then it smooths out. I would say my bike loves the 7-10.5 rpm range the most. Also, version 6.1 software.

My K12r calls for super unlead. I also had an r1150r which I ran on super. However, my thoughts are that if it doesn't ping, you can run low grade with no worries at all.

I was just having the license discussion with a friend of mine yesterday. He got pulled over for speeding and had no license, just a C class. It must have been his lucky day, the cop did not want to bother with the impound, so he told him to drive home and get his license. Here in California, its a ...

I have had passengers on both bikes and passenger comfort has been about the same. They seem to have alot more fun on the K12 tho

Yeah, i would keep it in first and get thru the turn and headed straight, then get up to speed. Even better, give yourself more of a gap to be safe. Either way, its good to have steady throttle with slight acceleration rolling out of the turn, improves rear wheel traction. Coasting out of a turn or ...

From what you wrote, I take it you shifted into second gear while in a turn? IF so, thats a bad idea in dry weather and rain all the more. Textbook says rollon throttle thru turn. Shifting during a turn in rain is asking for trouble.
Glad you were able to ride thru it tho!

I have state farm and owned an r1150r before getting my K12r. They did not base my rate on the performance of the k12 but on the CC difference. Since the technical engine size increase is negligable, my price was only about 40 bucks more per year. was paying about 540 per year with full coverage on ...

I looked in the owners manual and could not find any info on how to adjust headlight.. Only a small note that it should be done by a trained BMW dealer...? It certainly can't be that hard can it :?

I read the same article. It was funny because that is about the only bad press I have read on the K12r. Its seemed pretty slanted. They put the honda ahead of the K12 of all things, and why, because It loved to wheelie! Those reviewers were all focused on bikes that wheelie and clearly were not fans...

Re: 7.0 Did the Trick!

[quote=Guess what? The 6200 rpm vibration's gone, the engine is smoother throughout the rev-band, snatchy throttle's way better, and digital neutral gear indicator displays "N" now instead of "0".[/quote] It sounds like you had 5.0 and updated to 7. The 0 to N was fixed on 6.0. M...

As 7.0 has been out for awhile, I am just curious as to the feedback. I have been reading a few threads online and it seems like 7.0 is not as good as once thought, at least for some. There has been mention of stalling issues. As it stands, I am very happy with 6.01 and I am sure that 7.01 is not th...

Whoo Hooo!!!! Silver. I'm glad you stopped in time. I just bought my rockster on Saturday and on the ride home I was shocked at how quick the bike stopped (compared to my old 1991 EX500). I wonder about the time a near accident happens like that, and the driver ends up stopping RIGHT IN FRONT OF YO...

have you considered buying a used stock exhaust setup. I bet there are plenty almost new, stock exhausts sitting in garages.... Personally, i like the cat/can combo. The stock sound is very nice and the cat is a good thing for obvious reasons!

My two cents!
