Re: Bike starts conks out when throttle turned

Max welcome to the board! Give us more info if you can. Year of the bike, mileage, service history etc. Maybe a bit more on the problem too. Is the engine dead cold when this happens? If you let it idle a minute or two to warm a bit does it still die? Will it go above idle if you roll the throttle v...

Re: Getting close to 100K

Excellent work!! I have to admit, I'd forgotten about that grey colour scheme, I like it. :D (Although I'm not convinced by the red bits... ;) ) Well that grey used to be black. That’s what years of outside parking does. I’ve had red plug covers since My ‘03. Thought I’d see how the red caliper bol...

Re: Excessive Heat ?! Please Help

Pretty well documented those header pipes near the jugs will get glowing red hot pretty quickly without airflow over the cylinders. If you're going to run the engine anything at all over a minute or so you really should place fans in front of the engine.

Re: My new 2002 BMW R1150R

Welcome! The R is a great bike. Dependable and pretty darn rugged. I'll turn 100,000 miles on mine within the next couple months. And there's lots of help on this site.

Re: Beakster Bash "Sweet" 16!! - Franklin WV 5/15-5/19

I will certainly be there hopefully fairly early Friday. Was planning on riding over on Thursday but looks like I'll be facing/meeting an
oral surgeon tomorrow morning. Not sure that two wheels will be in my future tomorrow. But certainly Friday!

I've been using a Battery Tender Jr for I guess 14 years. Just be sure whatever tender you buy matches up with the chemistry of your battery.

Re: Alaska (Tires)

TW how about the tire review? Tires have done great. My Texas trip was a blast, about 3600 miles total. I've 97K on the bike now. About 11,000 on the front and it still has more tread depth than a new street only tire (like a Raven 009). Rear has near 8K and it's probably got another 3K at least le...

Re: Towerworker, Tire report?

Almost forgot! Back from Texas last Wednesday. Bike and tires did great. Tomorrow I'll check my records and give you numbers on mileage. Just under 3600 total on trip. And I'll have to admit I'm challenged on posting pictures. Old fart syndrome I guess. Off top of my head I've 12K+ on the front and ...

I've not yet made a reservation as there is a slight chance of having to work Saturday but pretty certain I can switch days with a co-worker. So I hope to have that worked out in a day or two. Worst comes to worst I'll be there to ride Friday and will be at the dinner Sat eve, Franklin is little mor...

Denali Soundboard airhorn

Just got back from a 3600 mile trip to west Texas and back to Va. Bike ran flawlessly and weather was great. But twice during my trip I could have used a much louder horn. Distracted drivers etc. The Denali Soundbomb looks promising. Does anyone have any experience with this horn? The review I read ...
