Re: How to silence that recent camchain startup clatter

Great post, CR. Thank you. Hopefully, I'm some years away from dealing with that. Hopefully, my '13 has a new, improved spring.

Re: BMW changes F800 series recommended engine oil viscosity

Hey CycleRob I just bought a leftover '13 F800R. Did a fly & ride. Left the dealer with 14 miles on the odo and had 630 when I got home the next day. I was surprised to find that 15/50 synth. was the recommended oil. Since then, we did a two up 475 mile 3 day getaway, F8 hasn't used any oil on b...

Re: MPG - A total let down!

Sounds to me like the starter drive, or Bendix, as we used to call it, is on it's way out. (That's the gear on the end of the starter that engages the flywheel in order to crank the engine over.) My green '04 Rockster delivers a pretty consistant 43 mpg. The bikes are pretty much all the same, so th...

Re: Beakster Bash VIII - May 12-14, 2011 - Milford, Pa

Evidently *I* got the last room from Sandy. However, it's a smoking room with two beds. She will try to move me to a non-smoking room if one becomes available. Also, the room is reserved for Wednesday the 11th until Saturday. So, I have a room with an extra bed. Any takers? Mark I wonder how many &...

Re: Major Failure Poll

Roughly 25,000 on my '04 Rockster. Been used mostly for sport touring, both solo and two up. I do change the FD lube with every oil change, just to keep it clean and inspect it for any signs of abnormal wear. No problems to amount to anything with this bike. I wouldn't hesitate to do your Colorado t...

Re: SW-motech luggage rack and JC Whitney topcase

I have the Motech rack on a 919 Honda. It's German made and fits well. The mounting area should take just about any topcase, it's looks like it's designed to be pretty universal. That said, if I were you, I'd look for a used oem rack and side case mounts. That's what I have on my Rockster (which is ...
