Re: New K1300R

The BMW demo truck came to town 2 weeks ago and I thought it would have the 1300's. It didn't. One salesman said they weren't going to bring the 1300R to the states. I know when I wanted to get rid of my K1200R, nobody including the dealer wanted it. I rode the K1200S 2X and want to try the 1300S. I...

Re: What is your favorite gear line up?

Being large, I love Joe Rocket(3 jackets, 6 pairs of gloves). But I am going to try Fieldsheer(Aviator jacket) this winter. No special pants for me.

I used this kit, I bought it used from someone here. Worked great, but you will grind your pegs in deep corners.

Re: should I???

I'd get the price down more and buy it. I've had more than 6 bikes and this one is the first w/ ABS. Only because I had no choice.

When I had it, I had a taller windscreen on it for blasting across the desert. I'm quite wide and at 80+ mph, the wind drag sucked w/o the windscreen.

Re: The best 79 cents I ever spent

It must not be an issue to the manufacturers, because there is a maintenance CD on e-bay for most vehicles out there. Saw one for the Hayabusa, Raptor 660, Rockster, K1200R, and RT. Many forums even have downloadable versions on them. I'm sure it would be easy to go after the original "pirater&...

Re: ARIZONA - Bmw Service/Dealerships???

What stock are you looking for? I think Victory in Chandler has a lot of accessories, not sure on hard parts. They get my business as they are close to me and they sell me bikes cheap. Iron horse in Tucson has got the best reputation as far as service. There is no factory store more north in AZ than...

Re: K1200R or S

The problem for BMW and their customers, is that the same issues are in their GT and that bike is all about 2-up riding and commuting. And for that amount of money, it's a shame. Yea, I learned to use the clutch alot in traffic and parking lots, no big deal. But such a bummer on what should be a top...

Re: K1200R or S

If you are buying a used one, makes sure you ride it slowly first. My 06 KR suffered badly from really rough slow speed fuel injection. Riding 2 up was impossible, we would keep bumping helmets. I had more SW updates than I could count, and the computer only holds a certain amount then you pay for a...

Re: Motorcycles aren't about logic, I should buy a BMW, right?

Buy one now and then get the other in a couple of years. I'm on my 3rd BMW in 5 years(Rockster, KR, R1200RT). I also had a Y2K Hayabusa and before that a HD FXDX. I want to try out all types of bikes while I'm not too old. Life is good and there are a lot of great bikes out there to try. I can't aff...
