Re: F800ST for a large guy ?
Thanks for the replies ! I did test ride the f800s a couple of years back, when i had the R1100R, and i remember the sensation of lightness, which i didn't really like, the heavier R gave me what felt like more stability in the sense that it just went through side winds and road bumps without being ...

F800ST for a large guy ?
Hi all
I currently have a R1100RT, and the ST looks appealing, but how is it for a large guy like me, 1,92 m 105 kg ?
Is it cramped, how about wind protection, riding in rain, cold, i am guessing i cannot hide behind the windscreen and my head+neck is always in the airstream ?
Thanks
Cheers

Re: Advice on buying '95 R1100R
Hi I would check if it had the HES replaced, possibly starter motor, as these were known to cause some trouble on the earlier models. Both not very difficult to replace yourself, especially starter, but still worth asking. Take a ride and check if the gearbox shifts without problems and there's no g...

Re: Oil Level Window
yeah, i always tend to put too much oil myself when i change it :) the trick for me is to remember what the oil window looks like with no oil there, and then watch it carefully when i add the new oil. somewhere around the 3,5 liters you should see the oil level rising in the window. The window is a ...

just bled the brakes and wondering...
I just bled the brakes on my '94 ABS R 1100 R and cannot help wondering about the quantity of the fluid i had to exchange. Namely, very little. It was the first time i bled the brakes myself, previously it was done by bmw people abut 2-3 years ago. The fluid in the containers on the bike was pretty ...

how much brake fluid ?
Hi to all, Silly question, how much brake fluid should i get in order to bleed the brakes on my 94 R 1100R ? Found all the info how to do it etc, but not how much fluid it actually takes. It has been bled last time about 2 years ago, and it is brown and low in the reservoir, high time for a change :...

bike won't start -help !
Hello to all, I have a problem with my '94 r 1100 r. Recently the starter was turning with increasing difficulty, and now finally it won't start the bike at all. It makes a laud noise, as usual when it is triggered and the bike is started, but then nothing happens, it doesn't turn over. Battery is f...

Re: bike won't start question
got that one too
did the valve adjustment + TB sync and the bike runs better, although not perfect. I guess i have some issues with the throttle cables, will try to figure that out later. for now i'm happy to have a bike again!
cheers!

Re: bike won't start question
thanks, i already have these documents, and i have a twinmax which i already used to sync the TB, although didn't do the valves before that so it wasn't very useful (wasn't able to tune it better than it already was)

Re: bike won't start question
Well, it was the hall sensor. I replaced it with the one i bought and the bike runs like a dream now :) I checked the old sensor and it has a malfunction, and a weird one too. I thought one or both gates would be busted, and that they simply wouldn't work. I made the usual diode-setup for checking t...

Re: bike won't start question
just bought a matching used hall sensor on ebay, for 35 euro :D , 30000 km on it but should be ok. it sure is a better option for me than to buy a new one for 200e at the moment, i have little money but a lot of time :). will check it along with the one that is installed in the bike at the moment , ...

thanks!
read the motronic error codes, surely 1122 and 1133, so both hall sensor error codes all makes sense.

Re: bike won't start question
uff, a new hall sensor costs 242 euro, i was told by my bmw dealer today :-k . i found a way to read the motronic error code with an analog voltmeter, just need to get my hands on one now. digital doesn't do the trick, tried. i will try to establish what the bike tells me is wrong with it, and then ...

Re: bike won't start question
ok, i changed the fuel filter, checked all the cable and all possible things, charged the battery etc. the bike behaves as it did before , just starts more vigorously/easier, but dies ~10- sec later. i have established it is because the hall-sensor problem, described in the thread i put link to abov...

Re: bike won't start question
for those interested in the subject: i found in another post the symptoms i've been having , and least initially, and it seems to be the hall sensor see here http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8716&p=79962&hilit=hall+sensor+kinda+long+#p79962 or just do the search for : &quo...
