Est51

Steve (Est51) and all others,
That post is without a doubt, the most cogent writing I have seen on this board in quite some time.

I am actually surprized it is still up and has not been edited or deleted. Of course it has only been up about 30 minutes.

Aftermarket

So....I guess asking if one of the moderators who deleted it would be kind enough to find it in the circular file and resurrect at least the parts that some of us might need to use in handling our service managers might be out of the question?

Can't Find It!!!

Guys, I was away for a bit, at a meeting. Upon returning and catching up on a million emails, etc. I dashed through the Board to check new posts. There was a very informative thread regarding aftermarket exhausts, warranty issues and things like that. I skimmed it, among other posts, with intentions...

leaning

Bruno, I do not mean to argue, but in the interest of correct information being disseminated: Your statement "the more you lean the more grip your tires are generating to keep the lean" is just plain wrong. It may be true that the LATERAL FORCES applied to the tires are greater when a bike...

leaning

Did I see a reference to "smaller footprint while leaned over.....", because that is just plain, outright INCORRECT. On any of the modern tires that the 1150R will be wearing, the footprint (contact patch) will be SMALLEST with the bike exactly upright. It will increase in size a bit as th...

helmet laws

Here is a take on it that is different: I am one of the guys called in to fix up folks who crash, mess up their face, but survive. I show up in the ER and just do what can be done. If they don't survive, I don't get called, so I DO see a biased sample. So, you might say it is less expensive to foreg...

posting

While it has been years, I did read Animal Farm and the reference by Guest didn't get by me. But I must be less intelligent than Napolean, as I sure didn't get the comment about patronage as it pertains to me. Meanwhile, I got a very complete, explicit and detailed PM from Doug regarding policies fo...

manual

Haynes' came out last year, was about $25 and was pretty good....though I don't get into wrenching beyond basic to intermediate level disassembly of the bike.

question post

I asked a simple question that was in no way offensive, even by the most puritan standards. My thread was deleted. Immediately. I, too, would be very bothered by feeling of need to leave the board, as I have enjoyed (tremendously) the interaction over the past few years. I joined before I purchased ...

Around here, U Haul has a bunch of options for not much money, and I believe you can do a one way rental, too.

Dallara

Hmmmm....... Something is "up" that I don't know about. Very little of what Dallara posts is valuable? I kind of keep track of what I have learned over the past couple of years from the board and its members, and in a "Rubber meets the Road" sense (practical things), Dallara's po...

K bike

Bob, You want MORE power on the GT than the current R or S K bikes make? Now THAT sounds like an R1 owner!!! If you like the feeling of an inline 4 and the usability of your RT, you might love the K GT, esp. with all that power on tap. As a current owner of an FZ1, I can tell you that it will boil d...

1200

Re the criticism of the 1200 series, specifically from Pat and Dallara: I have owned both. I disagree with a couple of things, but not all. 1. Vibe. Counter balancer or not, the 1200 DEFINATELY still has the boxer engine mojo. It pulls hard, has an even torque delivery curve and rumbles like a boxer...
