Damo
Better shifting xmission, FI mapping & Conti Tevis NON-SERVO brakes. The three things that everyone talked about was wrong with it.....AND BMW went and fixed it. All reviews from mags and individuals laud the improvements.

which is the better bike.... the yamaha, or the cow-a-sockie...i used to own a 1973 yamaha rd 350. I realy liked that bike save the 3 times the electrics made me push it 5+ miles. That was when I bought my first BMW....a 1974 R90/6. That bike is still running to this day. Has over 200,000 + miles. T...

DRothermel,

I have been riding for 30+ yrs as well. Started on a yamaha rd350, to all kinds of bikes with w/s and now a 99 gs with NO w/s. With the proper gear, it is the BEST way to fly low. I am thinking seriously about trading my 99 GS on the r1200r. Welcome here, and thx for the input!

Motorcycle Online just posted a comparo of the R1200R vs. a couple other Eurobikes. While the R didn't do well compared to the Tuono and Brutale in the sharply focused test, it was noted that the R12R has 102 horsepower and 79 ft. lbs. of torque. That's quite impressive for an air cooled motor. The...

The KR is almost as fast as a KS (which I had). The R12R isn't as fast in a straight line, especially over 120 mph. If straight line very high speed acceleration is your thing, the KR or KS is a much better tool. Guarranteed on the street, no matter your skill, in anything other than a straight lin...

+1 on the milage: Im doing 48mpg last check and that is not going easy on the throttle. Acceleration: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Then you need to pick the bugs out of your teeth because you were grinning too much during the acceleration phase. Keep in mind that the bike wet is...
