+1 for JetBoil

I recently purchased the JetBoil and can vouch for it's effectiveness. I've heard it may not be as quick in lower temps but that may not be as much of an issue for motorcyclists. I know I can whip up a cup of coffee pretty quickly with it.

Ubuntu Fan!

Hey Rob, I've been using ubuntu linux for about a year and half. I knew nothing about computers when I started and learned about them with linux. I'm actually having to learn about windows because I purchased a GPS and it only wants to interface with a Windows box. Everything else I've learned to do...

I have had the talk with my family on several occasions. It revolves around numerous times I have been present for the deaths of loved ones, lingering in the hospital of illnesses or old age. We don't get to choose the manner of our passing but I want my family to know that if I should die while eng...

Good post!. I took the same step and purchased an '06 ST a couple of weeks ago. Loved the R and it was the best of a series of twins I owned over the last ten years. I really struggled with the change but I wanted something new and different and after all these years without significant weather prot...

It's sad for anyone to get hurt no matter who is responsible and my heart goes out to their families. Many of the people I rode with over the years scared themselves many times but it was always the bike's fault, or another driver's fault. Many of them no longer ride because "motorcycles are da...

I think you have the right idea. A wet bandana around the neck or even wetting down your shirt, under your jacket, will keep you cool for many miles.

Irregardless of a good rider better or a better rider great, I'll bet it's all set to make a poor rider poorer. Maybe I missed it somewhere but has a price been set on the S? I didn't ask when I was at the dealer, because I knew I wasn't buying but now I'm curious.

Wow, Get away from the computer a couple days and... Can't speak for everyone but I'm not going to be offended by anything I see or read on the internet. At least until we get some face time like at the Bash. So far everyone I've met in person off this board, even when completely different than my p...

I'll do what I always do. Look around to get my bearings, assess my assets and liabilites and make a new plan. Until then I just ride when I can. :) Edit. For what it is worth, when I broke my hip a couple years ago I had four months of doubt that I would ever ride again, or ride much. I wasn't as u...

Holt's in Athens, Ohio had one fresh off the truck last weekend and I looked it over, but no rides. It really looks fast and fancy but looks like a really commited riding position. I don't think my hip would let me ride it for very long before looking for a scenic place to stretch.

My first motorcycle was a 1977 GS400 Suzuki, kick-start only. I knew next to nothing about bikes anyway but I like to never got that thing started come springtime. Now alot of bikes fire right up, but I'll never forget what it was like to kick-start one.

MikeCam and anyone else that has one of the K bikes-

Do they start any quicker? Maybe the larger cylinders take a little longer to fill and fire? What do you guys think?

I've got to agree with Harry on that last post. We even used to have a name for someone going artificially slow due to a cruiser behind them-cruiser-itis! I've been delayed on responding to calls that didn't justify a light and siren approach because an over cautious driver slowed to the speed limit...

Mike, Good to hear you're ok! Looking forward to seeing you at the bash and hearing the details of your accident. We'd of all been jealous of the K12 anyway. :D
