Runs better in cold than warm weather ? ? ?
My 2004 R1150R runs like a bat out of Hades in colder weather (50F and below) but in 75F weather is does not accelerate as good. Not a big difference, but noticeably just not as fun. Have new stick coils and had injectors cleaned and verified (supposedly). New plugs, been synced, etc. Humidity does ...

Re: How is 02 sensor used by computer?
Thanks for all the info. It sounds like any problems accelerating under full throttle are not caused by the O2. (I assumed) my O2 got a lot of gas dumped on it when oil saturated the left stick coil. Have since replaced the two coils and all is better (for the 3 days I have ridden). In addition to j...

How is 02 sensor used by computer?
I understand the 02 sensor measures oxygen content in the catalystic converter. What I don't understand is how the computer uses this information. Does the computer adjust the timing and/or fuel flow dynamically in real time? Does it work more on averages over time? I have heard it selects the map. ...

Re: Engine stutters between 4k-5k RPM - Help Please
I replaced both stick coils and it ran great this last weekend. Rode about 150 miles both Sat and Sun. Was cold (high mid 40s) and before was better in cooler weather, so not positive yet how it will run in warmer weather. Will take a little while to see how it goes.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: Engine stutters between 4k-5k RPM - Help Please
Has a good air filter. The stutter is not bad. If you wind up throuth the gears you really don't notice it since the RPMs don't really drop below 5,000. It is just that between 4,000 and 5,000 RPM in higher gears the acceleration falters maybe twice. If you run 3,000 to 6,500 it in lower gears you r...

Engine stutters between 4k-5k RPM - Help Please
2004, R1150R, 72,000 miles, one owner, all service has been done at dealer on schedule. In 5th hold throttle wide open at 3,000 RPM and let it run up to 7,000 RM. It pulls ever increasingly hard except between 4,000 and 5,000 RPM wher it stumbles a couple of times. Have replaced fuel filter, had inj...

Am I the only one that looks at those vertical bracket "horns" and envisions being skewered if I ever went over the handlebars?

Heated Grips - Warm not Hot?
My '04 R1150R heated grips do not get and stay hot on high. Both sides work the same. While riding they may get hot enough to feel good for a few minutes through some unlined gloves, but then back to milder warmth. Sometimes I pull my glove off and grab it hard and it is just mildly warm (although h...
