Hi all,
I'm just fine but my bike was totaled (though ride-able) . Thinking of replacing it with an '04 Rockster for sale in Big Bend, Wisconsin. Anyone nearby there willing to take a look at it for me?
Give me a shout if you can help.

Re: Do Wind Deflectors Work?
I use a Laminar Lip with my OEM sport screen. It's Velcro'd on and I definitely notice a difference between on and off. As far as whether it'll actually lift the wind flow over you, I can't say. Depends how tall you are...but it does seems to raise the height of heavy windflow by several inches.

Re: Police bike clutches
I got the Wunderlich ceramic clutch at about 25k miles (lots of days doing 80 miles threading bumper to bumper traffic). I'm at 48k now and have had no spline issues...or clutch issues. Bike's an '04. Wunderlich wasn't cheap, but it should last the life of the bike and it doesn't heat up like a regu...

Re: Long range touring tire that would work for 2002 RT?
I would say 10k is a bit above the average from what I recall of previous threads on this subject...of course it all depends on your riding style. Still, Ohio roads probably aren't the smoothest in the world so 10k really is not bad at all. My experience with the Metzler Z6 has been quite good, but ...

Re: Brake servo loss
Hmmm. More likely the battery (unless it was still wet after the wash). Low voltage does funny things to the ABS and other systems. If it happens again after the bike's been sitting for more than a few days or a week, then it's almost definitely the battery.

Re: Brake servo loss
You're probably correct. But I seem to recall a time I had when the ABS would not engage and neither would the servo. Surprised the hell out of me. Turned out my sensors were dirty. Only happened once though and that was 4 years and 40k miles ago.

Re: In ear headphones
+1 for Etymotics. Kind of late to weigh in but I've also tried many different ones and Etymotics keep coming out on top for comfort (small), sound quality and noise reduction. Either the E6i or the E4p or E4s (more expensive but better wiring). I have some fairly new Etymotic H5 headphones that I tr...

Re: Brake servo loss
Hi Harvey, Sorry to hear about your ABS glitch. The '04 has partially integrated EVO brakes which are different from the '02, but not dramatically. The brake pedal activates rear only...the front brake lever applies full front and partial rear. It's also possible that a bit of dirt has mucked up you...

Re: wide throttle open running issues
Thanks for clearing that up Iowabeakster.
I remembered that CycleRob had weighed in on this and that he'd mentioned some risk to the ecu, but couldn't remember which procedure he was recommending.

Re: wide throttle open running issues
I had the same problem on mine and replaced my stick coils about 1 year ago. HUGE difference. I'm not sure pulling one off at a time while the engine is idling is such a good idea. Couldn't that damage a good stick coil or other electrical doodads? It would definitely be safer to turn the bike off, ...

Re: quick release lids
Here's a pic of what your install should end up like. You're just threading the outer portion of the original hinge with the tap and laying the klamp on the hinge's outer surface , insert the screws thru the lid, the hinge and the klamp block. Easy! http://evolutioncycles.com/images/open%20bag.jpg

Good catch MattPie. I forgot about the left case size wrinkle. I did get the lowering kit for my full size left case, but wound up not needing it when I recently decided to run without my second muffler.

Order shipping from Karl today!
Hi there. Just got an email from Karl that he finally got all the parts and he is shipping to me today. He wanted me to pass along his apologies to everyone in the group for this taking so long. His suppliers kept messing up and he is quite embarrassed. Anyway, I should have the orders in a couple o...

Re: Problem installing Kisan headlight modulator
Hmmm. Maybe the S stands for something else. I noted in another post today about kisan's running lights that I also run my bike with a hotter (80/110W) bulb, which is yellow, and using an Eastern Beaver light harness and PIAA 1100x driving lights which are constantly on, I just aim them a little low...

Re: What system cases fit?
My '04 has cases on it that were on my '95 R850R. Practically any R-bike system case prior to 07 or 06 should work with the same sidebrackets.

Re: signal/running lights
I have the signal minder, 3-way hyperlights and the BMW version of the Brake! They all play nice together and are easy installs. Add to that a topcase with a brake and running light built in and I'm easily mistaken for an 18-wheeler from the rear  Seriously though, the more light, the better. A...

Re: Problem installing Kisan headlight modulator
You don;t say what year your R1150R is. The 115W is for 00-03 bikes. For 04 and later R1150R and Rockster, use the 115W-S, per the Kisantech Aplications sheet.... https://www.kisantech.com/brochures/App-Print-1.pdf I think "S" stands for "short" as in not too long for the headlig...
