Toner: Thanks for the site, I've now wasted a full day during which I was supposed to be working!!!  Tao: Thanks for the advice, hadn't thought of the dog mag angle. I've been working on the article for the past couple weeks. Hoping to have something to send off in the next week or two. I...

Any pro photographers here?
I know there was at least one photographer on this board but I'm terrible with names and have no idea if he is still here or if there are any others amongs us. If any of you have experience with this I have a couple questions with regards to getting some shots published. I recently completed a dog s...

Hello Lion Lady, Funny, I started the same conversation over on another board. I just bot the blue one you show. Haven't tried it yet but if you cut away the bottom part, which is where the bundled wire is stowed I'm almost certain it will even fit in the gap under the tank just ahead of the saddle....

Motorcycle Physics Question
We spend a lot of time talking about mods that will shave a pound or two off the weight of the bike. I've always wondered if, from a performance standpoint, there was a difference between taking pounds of the rider or the bike. Anyone know the answer?

Any thoughts to just saying no? At 27, I still remember 16 very well. Also, as I am on the verge of starting my own family, this is something that I’ve been thinking about. Personally I would not have wanted my 16 year old self to be riding a bike. I was a very responsible 16 year old: part t...

inline fours
Dallara and other's have writen a few times about not liking inline fours. The only inline four that I have any experience with is the one that's in my toyota echo. The differences that I've gathered from this board are less engine braking, running at higher RPMs, and less vibration. What else is di...

R1200RT vs. FJR1300
There's been a lot of discussion on the relative merits between these two bikes. I'm curious if I'm the only one that doesn't think these are even really in the same category (marketing efforts aside). The new RT seems to me more like a mini goldwing than a true sport tourer. Is it really in the sam...

Sorry KBC, I had hoped to do the big loop (Val d-Or, Chibougamou, Lac St. Jean, La Tuque, Quebec City, Montreal) this summer but work is keeping me out of town for most of the summer (actually in Sydney, Australia right now - great place!). When I went, I basically went straight up and down, I was i...

one last thing: One of the cool things about this place is you actually have to check in at the very begining of the highway. You have to get off your bike and go inside so that someone can look you in the eyes to make sure you really understand that there is nothing for the first 381kms and not muc...

Oh yea, about the bugs. They are pretty bad. My solution. I just kept my helmet and riding gear on when I stopped along the road - very bite proof. In Radisson, they spray so there are much less bugs. The other little negative is that it is a very long and relatively straight road. Particularly if y...

Don't let this guy discourage you. I did it about two years ago and really enjoyed it. The condition of the road is a notch above standard Quebec road (which isn't great!) but there were no holes or anything to worry about. Because this road is strategically critical to the province (at least 25% of...
