This fuel strip problem is a perennial nuisance!
So, I took Wally's advice and converted my bike to use the spoofer. Its a DIY solution which works a treat! Thanks Wally.

Re: Garmin Tire Pressure Monitoring
Hi Everyone,
I'm pleased to report that the Garmin TPMS system works fine on the 2007 R1200R. No issues linking the valve caps with the zumo 395. And the caps do not foul the brake caliper.
Cheers.

Garmin Tire Pressure Monitoring
Hi, Happy New Year everyone. My 2007 R1200R got a new Garmin GPS (395LM) for Christmas (well, you have to treat them too!). Among all its other wizzo features is a TMPS. Garmin's system uses a replacement valve cap. As the front wheel valve is horizontal I'm wondering if there is enough space to mou...

Re: Brake reservoir warning
Hi Neil,
My 2007 R1200R has developed the same weeping around the base of the reservoir. Did tightening up the screws stop the leak?
Does anyone know where can I get a front brake master cylinder repair kit?
Cheers,
Steve.

Mine caught a cold in it's ABS system, resulting in under tank surgery :-( Dr Module Master is in attendance.

Looks great! Any comments from passengers? - How comfy? Do they still slide forward? etc.

Re: Removing lock from 28L Top Case
Hi Dave, Thanks for the explanation. I wonder how the chip works as there is no direct connection, nor battery in the key? Either way, my resolution was to rekey the top case and panniers to work with both my ignition key and the keys that came with the new top case. I only had to remove 1 wafer. So...

Re: Removing lock from 28L Top Case
Hi, I recently bought a 28L Top Case and lock. The lock came with 2 keys. My first thought was to rekey the lock to the ignition key. Back in 2007, the bike only came with one metal key. Could I rekey the ignition and seat locks to match the case and that way have 2 keys for the bike? I seem to reme...

Re: BOOSTER PLUG
Fitted mine yesterday. It has made a positive improvement to riding in low speed traffic.
Is there any need to disconnect the plug before having the bike serviced or put on their diagnostic machine?

The number one known issue to which most members will attest: is that if you take a test ride you will eventually buy one. A secondary issue it trying to wipe the smile off your face.

Re: sw-motech bars help
Hi,
The top bolt was a real pain to fit. On my bars the top hole was slightly from the bolt hole on the engine. My solution was to elongate the hole with a round file to make them line up correctly. After that it was easy.

Re: Why BMW?
I'm 58, I wanted one last decent bike. I rode the FS800. Then I rode the R1200R. Both much more expensive that I had ever considered "wasting" on a motorbike. The Japanese dealers had really some nice stuff: V-Strom and Versys, at around half the price. But none offered test rides. What to...

Re: Why is there only one swingarm pivot cap?
Yes, I always thought that the bike looked unfinished without a cap. My cheap and cheerful remedy was to go to Walmart and buy one of those convex blind spot mirrors which fix to your wing mirrors. Get one slightly smaller than dished pivot hole, cut off the outer plastic casing off and fix the mirr...

Hi,
As a born again biker who grew up wearing a Belstaff, IMHO wax cotton went the way of 'tickling the carbs' and kickstarts. Not a lot of use today except to scare the grandchildren.

Re: Modulaing headlight for R1200R
Hi, I think modulators are huge benefit for a motorcyclist. I had both the Kisan headlight and rearlight on my Kawasaki, so I got them both for my 2007 R1200R. To overcome the error light problem, the headlight version had an external bulb which flashed in antiphase to the headlight. This worked for...
