Re: 2004 R1150R - Update for better understanding of issue
This could be a fuel pump relay problem. Try swapping relays in the fuse box to see if it'll work. I assume you know the relay is only actuated for a few seconds when you first turn the ignition on, and then very briefly at every half revolution of the crankshaft (if the Hall Effect Sensor is worki...

Re: 2004 R1150R - Update for better understanding of issue
The problems is the fuel pump... When you hook the fuel pump wires up with the wires on the bike, the fuel pump doesn't work. The fuel pump will work when by pass the wires on the bike. Trying to figure out the cause to the problem... which is why thinking the computer is the problem. I would apprec...

Re: 2004 R1150R
Well, just from changing the battery the motronic certainly has not gone south. Neither the ignition nor the side-stand switch. Hence to change part after part without analyzing the cause or measuring the circuits with a good voltmeter is not the right approach. The motronic is rather robust. As sa...

Re: 2004 R1150R
My dad is thinking the computer is bad. He replaced the battery and after replacing the battery the bike wouldn't start with a new battery. He got the key stuck in the ignition switch and finally got that out and replaced the ignition switch. He did testing and think the fuel pump was not working......

Re: No BMW Parts @ ChicagoBMW!
I was told that Tampa Bay BMW may sell parts at a little discount. I will give them a call as I need to order parts.
It's a shame what happened to Chicago as I did all of my dealings from them. Hearing what happened, has me shocked on why they are no longer a dealer.

2004 R1150R - Update for better understanding of issue
I am wondering if anyone knows a place that will test the computer board on a 2004 R1150R to be able to tell if the computer board is good or bad? Or does someone know how to be able to tell if it is good or bad before putting the bike back together as the bike is apart right now. Thanks so much in ...

Re: Fuel pump bad or is it the wiring that faulty
I understand about the QD's... I can double check that again as they do go together hard. It seems though I am not getting any electric to the fuel pump.

Re: Fuel pump bad or is it the wiring that faulty
The green wire with the white stripe comes from the fuel pump relay, which is the third black relay from the left at the front of the fuse box. You could try swapping it for the horn relay, which is the second black relay from the left to see if the pump comes on, but the horn fails to work. This w...

Re: Fuel pump bad or is it the wiring that faulty
We did check the fuses. Fuses are okay. Did not let the fuel pump run long... for the most 10-15 seconds. Should we try to run the fuel pump longer?

Fuel pump bad or is it the wiring that faulty
There is a brown, green/white, and blue/white wire. Brown I believe is ground, green/white I believe is positive as well as the blue/white wire is positive. I do not have a wiring diagram. I am not sure where the green/white and blue/white wire runs to. Three wires run to the fuel pump. I am trying ...

Re: Locked steering head on an 04' R1150R
Finally got the steering head unlocked but now the bike will not start. It will turn over but the engine not engaging.
What we did was put in a battery today. I am not sure if installing the battery has caused this problem. Or could it be something electronic going on in the computer?
Thanks.

Locked steering head on an 04' R1150R
Right now the steering head is locked and the parking light is on. The key will not budge to where the steering head will unlock so we can get the parking light to go off. Any suggestions or ideas someone will throw our way to help us get the key to turn please. Is there any technical FAQ's anywhere...
