Re: PSA - GPR Exhaust
I got the new muffler and pipe kit and installed it yesterday. Haven't ridden the bike yet as it has been raining. There was no parts list and the instructions were really bad! On the bright side the quality is very good and it was easy to install. I notice you didn't use the little offset bracket t...

Re: PSA - GPR Exhaust
I was so interested in this product that I went ahead and did a lot of research into it, including reading reviews on other forums. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. Found it on ebay and on Amazon.
Thanks for posting about it!

Re: PSA - GPR Exhaust
Does your bike run as well as it did with the original exhaust throughout the entire RPM range? I would also really like to get rid of that heavy, unsightly cat.

Re: Question about replacing Brake Hose
Hi Bruce!
Not sure how you would do that; it sounds kind of messy and brake fluid is very bad to slop on painted surfaces, rubber, skin etc. You'll have to bleed the system anyway so I wouldn't bother trying to pre-fill a new brakeline before installing it.

Re: Self-Cancelling Turn Signal Relay
I know I am a bit late to this party, but my 1998 R1100R has self-cancelling turn signals. They are not programable and do not shut off for about 30 seconds, but they do shut themselves off. There must be a part number somewhere that would help the OP.

Re: R1100R Luggage Options
There are a lot of luggage options out there. Yeah the BMW system cases are very expensive. I have a 1998 R1100R for which I bought system cases and a Hepco Becker luggage rack and topcase. You can get soft cases for a fairly reasonable price. That is what my bike came with. Keep looking on the inte...

Re: Tank bag advice
Ditto on the Big Mak tank bag line. I like them because the bag never comes in contact with the tank so it doesn't scuff up the paint.

Re: First Impressions Owning and Wrenching the R1100R (long)
Self-cancelling turn signals may have been an option for your bike. My '98 R1100R has factory self-cancelling turn signals which I almost never take advantage of because they stay on too long. I too have gotten the front wheel up on my R. A couple of times it was due to a very fast take -off from a ...

Re: Spare auxiliary 12 volt power for r1100r
If you think you may want to add more electrically-powered gadgets in the future, you may want to add an auxiliary fuse panel. Centech makes a nice one, or you can visit easternbeaver.com for another option.

Re: Rear Rack for 1997 R1100R
I have been pleased with my Hepco-Becker rack. I bought a Hepco-Becker 40L Journey topcase to mount on it as well. I did have to remove the charcoal cannister to install the rack. The case has been great. I installed an additional LED brakelight on it as well.

Re: Electrical Upgrade
I have had the Odyssey battery for years in my '98 R. I, too, installed the Eastern Beaver relays for my headlight. I hope you have better luck with your Sylvania Silverstar bulb than I and many others have had. Mine lasted last than 3K miles. That is apparently the reputation they have. I bought a ...

Re: R1100RT-P Headlight too dim?
Not sure if the RT-P has separate lamps for each beam or not. In addition to cleaning your lens and reflector, you should check the headlight connections for corrosion, crud or possible burning from arcing. Also, check this out: http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/H4_Kits/h4_kits.html I insta...

Re: Steering damper removal?
I plan on rebuilding my steering damper this winter (1 of the 3 projects I have planned). vknajtner, can you possibly post a link to your German source for the seals needed for the rebuild? I do notice some headshake on full-throttle acceleration in first gear, especially riding 2-up. If all I have ...

Re: Mounting a GPS device like Garmin Zumo to a R1100R
Hello everyone. I have done some lurking here and have just joined you officially. I know I am late to this thread, but I too went with the RAM mount for my Garmin 2720. I used the one that clamps to the handlebars and attached an extension arm, the mounting plate, and the Garmin motorcycle mount to...
