Re: R1150R ABS-ectomy
Sweatmark,
The rear anti-lock sensor on my 04 doubles as a speed sensor. Was wondering if the signal went to the abs brain or was processed elsewhere. I like my brakes but would go your route if big money failure happened. Keep the progress posted. Thanx

Re: Petrol tank breather lines
Injun, Should not be a problem for you as long as the breather lines do not go to the bottom nipple on the throttle bodies. My bike is a U.S. model and in the case of reversed hoses with the canister in place the vacuum created by the throttle bodies was sometimes connected to the drain line (by the...

Re: Fuel Canister and Valve
Eddiam, When I first checked the hoses they were reversed on my bike. Have since done a cannisterectomy. The only reason for the system i.m.o. is when you park the bike in an enclosed place and the gas expands you do not vent to the outside air and stink up the place. I live in south Fl. (hot most o...

Re: Pinhole in hard part of fuel line
Parcblu, Try to put the brass into an old piece of F.I. hose of the same diameter before forcing and galling up what you have to use on your bike. I doubt if you can re insert it. If it wont fit, go to the hardware store or Home Depot and find a pipe nipple or compression fitting that will fit the h...

Re: Head lite bulb
Zax, So have you run the H.I.D. in the Rockster's small right side housing with no ill effects on the housing and wiring? Do you run it off the stock hi beam switch or do you run a seperate switch? I have seen bits and pieces on the H.I.D. but not real familiar with it. I know it requires a ballast ...

Re: Head lite bulb
Not concerned about cost as much as the small diameter hi beam bulb lead wire (can it handle 9 amps) Also will the headlite housing handle the extra heat of increased wattage for extended periods of burn time.

Re: Head lite bulb
I guess what I want to know is can I run a 100 watt H1 bulb on the high beam side for extended periods without burning something up.

Head lite bulb
Can someone who has upgraded their bulbs on the Rockster tell me how much wattage you can run on the high beam side with out getting into a melt down situation? Looking at the Haynes manual it appears that only the low beam bulb goes thru the relay. The high runs straight from the switch. Please cor...

Re: Parts is Parts!
Boxer Ended up pounding a 12 point 8 m.m. torx in the stripped head with a hammer and it turned out enough to grab with some vice grips. Your problem started as did mine with using the allen style torx that came in your tool kit. It slips enough to strp the head. Purchase some socket head torx that ...

Re: Parts is Parts!
When I removed my rear subframe about a year and a half ago I ended up having big trouble with that same right hand side Torx. Ended up stripping the head of it pretty good. I thought it was under tension from the rear shock somehow even tho I had everything braced pretty well. When it all went back...

Re: Parts/pieces you wish you had, but no one makes
Sign me up for a box that replaces the rear seat. A rack on top would be good. The plastic rockster back seat cover I would like to find in a sturdy aluminum with bungee hooks.

sport screen
Was looking at getting a small screen to duck down behind for a little protection from the rain. Most screens either don't fit the Rockster or are much to tall. Don't like the wind buffetting around the head that comes with the medium height. The fly screen is about right size but doesnt fit. Sport ...

Enlighten me please, When you port and polish your heads do all grindings of valves need to be equal? If one intake is not the same as the other does it throw the whole process out of balance? I noticed on an earlier reply it was mentioned that H.P. was lost upon polishing. How so? One would think t...

Grey, Removed my airbox and that required removing the rear subframe. Pretty labor intensive. Not real difficult. Make sure you have an 8mm torx that fits onto a rachet. Stripped mine with the allen type wrench. Doug P.S. oH YEA, REMEMBERto put your fuse box in before the frame stiffener on re assem...
