Re: How about some favorite pics of your bike?

Okay... I'll bite. This is a road trip I took last year with my brother and a friend on the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u27/Workinman/JulyRoadTrip.jpg This is a nice "cool" ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway in January of 2010 http://i164.photobucket.com...

I'm pretty sure, also, that they are very different seats and wouldn't come close to interchanging.

Re: Rockster Problems

Is it possible that you have one of your throttle cables not seated properly? Perhaps while changing the starter or draining the tank, one of them got pulled out of the adjuster a little bit. Check that.

Re: Odyssey battery.

My red 2004 has the original battery and my black 2004 has an Odyssey that was in it when I bought it. I have never had any problem with my original battery, both bikes stay on a Battery Tender Plus when not being ridden for a week or two, and they both turn the starter over at the same speed. Not s...

Re: 04 R1150R - accessory port standard equip??

No, they were NOT standard. I have two 04's and one came with the socket and one did not. However, even if it doesn't have the socket, they are already wired for it, so you just need to order a socket and install it. Takes five minutes. I think I got my socket from beemerboneyard if my memory serves...

Re: Service manual

Yeah. I learned my lesson this time. And the weird thing was that the hard drive is fine, but the motherboard was fried. They make a neat little thing that you can just plug your hard drive into, plug it into your new computer via a USB cable and you get your hard drive back. I now have two hard dri...

I found a way to get all my information off my old hard drive, so I now have it on my NEW hard drive. Alls well that ends well.

Service manual

A while back, someone posted a link to a pdf file with a service manual for our bikes. Well, a power outage fried my computer (Even with a surge protector!) and I need this link to reinstall the manual on my new computer. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Chris

Re: 2004 R1150 run problem - newbie

Yes. These bikes came from the factory with wire tires that were too tight behind the headlight area. You have got a wire or two that is shorted. I've never had this problem, but quite a few people do. You are going to need to get to the wiring harness that runs from your bars to under the tank and ...

Re: Max Power Draw from Power Sockets?

Jeff,
I can't give you any actual numbers here because I've never done my "homework", but I can tell you that I have used my heated pants, heated gloves, and heated jacket on several occasions and never had a problem. Not one.

That doesn't sound bad. I saw one go on ebay a few years ago, BRAND NEW with zero miles on it for $15,000.

That's a sweet lookin Widowmaker! I just bought myself a new toy of the four wheeler type, so if I bring another two wheeler home I'm liable to be sleeping with them. But just for kicks... What would you sell it for?

Re: Cool Weather Riding Mods

I have the heated jacket liner, heated pants liner, and heated gloves. I've gotten my bike out when the temperature was 25 degrees, and like someone stated above, I felt like I was sitting in my living room. Is it bulky? Absolutely. When I'm diggin the bike out, I feel like Ralphie's little brother ...

Re: Help Please! Bike cannot hold idle.

As far as I know, and I'm no BMW expert, our bikes don't have idle screws. The idle is adjusted with the cables while you are synronizing the throttle bodies. If you're turning the little screws below the throttle bodies that "LOOK" like they would adjust the idle, you're just opening and ...

Re: Long range touring tire that would work for 2002 RT?

I installed a set of Pilot Road 2's about 3000 miles ago and they have yet to show any signs of wearing. I'm sure they have, but they sure don't look like it. I also rode the Blue Ridge Parkway last month for about 250 miles in a downpour and they stuck like glue. I was impressed. I'll be picking up...
