Re: Is it worth joining BMW Motorcycle Owners of America?
Yes the anonymous book will save your butt many times over if you travel a lot. I've even used it to find lodging at small out of the way hotels when all others were sold out by simply calling an MOA member near that area. Everyone is there to help. While you're at it the RA is a wonderful group as ...

Throw out bearing or transmission rattle?
My 1994 R 1100 RS with 43, 000 miles has a rattling either in the throw out bearing or in the transmission. When the bike is running at idle (1,000 rpm) with the trans in neutral and the clutch lever out I hear that rattling. When I pull the clutch in it goes away. Someone told me it was the synch o...

Re: Throttle Cable Question for 95 R1100R
This conversion can be done but at what cost? There are a newer set of cables that are teflon coated and don't stick which is sometimes a cause of the surging scenerio. I would research and devote my efforts into making sure the current cable ac=tuation system works properly. That should clear up an...

Re: TB Rattling
I would stick a carb tune on it and see if the TB's are not out of adjustment. Sync them and I think you'll find the sound either goes away or is minimal. Make sure your vales are correctly set first. Wardie

Re: Hi everybody old member returning
Just sold my 01 Hayabusa that I had modded for touring..hard bags, centerstand, Corbin and more. I enjoy the R 1200's but had some tuff times in the corners with the K1200 and 1300 GT's . They could almost stay with me on top end but definitely wack me in the corners. I'm glad I'm back to puttering ...

Re: Tuning out vibrations?
Check out the IBMWR website for specific tune up suggestions ranging from setting the valve lash wider on the throttle side to adjusting the TB sensor to exact TB balancing. You'll have to work at it. If you're pretty good at wrenching probably reasonable to invest in Twin Max or Carb Tune for synch...
