Re: He's Back!
Mods planned = 0 Actual mods = not 0 Oh well. Added some new mirrors (the more contemporary stock mirrors from the rest of the line-up) to replace the oval ones. Engine guards, of course - as well as the ABDECKRING. I also installed a blacked-out tail light, OEM tinted sport screen, and a luggage r...

Re: He's Back!
Like a bad penny. :) Hey all, just thought I'd say "hi". I'll be trading my R NineT in for a lovely 2014 R1200R Dark White on the 26th. Had fun with the 9T, but it just wasn't cutting it as an all-rounder. Started shopping for a replacement a few weeks ago. The 2016 R1200R was obviously a...

Re: Kansas
Harry, driven Kansas (lived there as well) a few times ... the lower south/east side of the state has some hills ... but the rest of the state is flat as a pancake and honestly not horribly interesting. The storms are what you have to worry about in the summer time ... lightning storms can be REALLY...

Doc, I remember those rains ... I was going to do that ride to the coast but there was not a dry route in or out of the state for days. Great write up, thank you!

Picking it up tomorrow. :D http://lostrider.smugmug.com/photos/i-xWWfrJ5/0/XL/i-xWWfrJ5-XL.jpg Until we took it outside into the sun I wasn't fond of the blue and was ready to paint it straight away, certainly the photos on the BMW website do it no justice, but it's grown on me after getting it out...

^ Thank You Bob! Here I thought I was the only one riding a White Roadster.. Maybe the only one in Nor-Cal? When Lane-sharing, I put on the flashers & the cars give me a wide berth, seeing the big white gas tank. It might resemble a CHP bike... :) Love the other colors I see here too, esp...

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
Hello, New Member & New BMW Owner. Ok, it's a 2008 w/ 30K miles. I'm just back into motorcycles after a 29 year hiatus. This is a Pic I took a few weeks ago at the Briones Reservoir in Contra Costa County in Northern California. I was about 30 miles from home. Short ride on a nice day. :D http:...

Re: Dark white / Light white
Dark white is a bit more subtle than the regular white. I have posted pics ... let me know if you have any other questions. So it is basically just a name ? A few dealers with them, list the dark white as a special edition. And yet [in the pic] I see no difference between them and any other color &...

Those are the Kriegas ... decided on this bike that I would not go with hard cases. They worked well and kept everything DRY during the incredible rain storm I rode through for hours.

Lets wait for Doug ... there is a place holder for R1250R which should be the new R ... but probably needs to be renamed and moved. Folks, please use the prior thread to post your thoughts, etc. until it gets sorted out. Thanks.Acpantera wrote:Does it get it's own board on this site?

Re: Air intake snorkel mod
Indeed, Ducati would not be what it has been for the last 20 years if it wasn't for 'customer R&D' not to mention Triumph, Harley thingumybob, Moto Guzi etc. Lets face it these oilheads are great but no perfect by any means, they are overweight and don't breathe very well,, some of the ergonomi...

Re: GIVI Trekker Side Cases
I'm trying to decide which side cases to get for my new Dark White R1200R, and wondering if anyone has put Givi Trekker panniers on their bike. I think they would look kinda cool. On my Dark White I decided to go with Kriega softbags for those times when I WANT to carry something. Bags are nice, ho...
