Plus one for me, these are a great tyre for the R1150R imo.riceburner wrote:My preferred is Pirelli Diablo Stradas - I fend they give good life, and good grip in all conditions.

Re: Rockster saddle on R1150R
Difinitely, I've got the higher saddle on my Rockster and have swapped it with a friend who has the standard R1150R.

Re: Tank Bags
I've got the new Wolfman Express Tank Bag , not too big, not too small, easy to take on and off. I like it a lot. http://www.wolfmanluggage.eu.com/shop/shopimages/products/extras/wolfman_express_tank_bag_3.jpg http://www.wolfmanluggage.eu.com/shop/shopimages/products/extras/wolfman_express_tank_bag_...

Re: New K1300R
Got to say, I borrowed a K1300R from the dealer when my bike was in for service. Was really looking forward to it, but came away very disappointed. The eccentric cam on the throttle, made the engine feel non responsive and gutless low down, the mid range not much better, and everything else happenin...

Re: Tires and Tire pressure
My current favourites are Pirelli Diablo Stradas. Had Metzler Z6's on previously, now have the Pirelli Diablo Strada's on the Rockster, and I agree, a great tyre, lots of feel and confidence in them, great in the wet as well. Currently have Michelin Pilot Power's on y Megamoto, with the 2CT on the ...

My left side grip also packed up. I used a Symtec heater element and wired it into the existing switch. Both side working fine and very similar in output.

Re: Tank Bag/s
Joe, are they both strap on type bags? I am looking at a Famsa on Ebay, and it looks like a strap type. Yes, they are both strap on bags, but the FAMSA uses a seperate base cut to fit the R1150R which the bag zips to, and the Wolfman is a universal strap fix which is attached via speed clips. Joe B...

Here you go -
retrofit BMW kit - BMW Heated Grip Kit - £105 from Motorworks.
or Symtec Heated Grip Kit - £41.50 from Winding Roads.
Both a fairly straightforward retro fit.

Re: Tank Bag/s
I've used both the FAMSA Enduro Max http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/3439/cimg3419medium.jpg and the Wolfman Timberwolf on my Rockster and been happy with both of them. http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/6683/bielsa.jpg Both are good bags, and I only switched to the Timberwolf as it was easier to ...

I can tell you that according to BMW's own figures they produced 43,026 R1150R models, but they don't differentiate between the standard and Rockster variants.

Re: Versatile GPS
After 2 Garnin Quests and a GPSMap 60csx, I'm now using a Garmin Nuvi 550, half the price of a Zumo and works really well. Motorcycle specific with multiple travel modes, post code etc etc. Recommended.

I just had my left hand one failed. Checked it out and found the heater was fine, just both the wires broken. Cut the wires and replaced. Work fine now.

Re: Thinking about painting my Rockster
Looking to get away from the strpes I think. I did see a Rockster done in Motorsport colours on ebay a year or so back, but never kept the photo's, looked quite nice, but not sure I want another white bike. My Megamoto is white and a mate has just had his 800GS done in white, so looking for somethin...

Thinking about painting my Rockster
I like my Rockster, but I have never been keen on the paint schemes (bronze, green or Edition 80) so I'm now thinking of painting it. Had a search but not having much luck finding any inspiration. Does anyone have any pictures of non standard Rockster paint schemes, just don't show me a matt black o...

Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
I ordered some old style 1200GS handguards to fit to my HP2 MM, but the part number just updated to the new model, and I fitted them to the bike without problem. I then heard about the old style problems and realised why the new parts had been delivered on the old part number. My local dealer tells ...

Re: I Just Bought a HP2 Megamoto!
Well... what is it like!? How about a real pic?! :) Well I have bought one :D :D :D Still have my Rockster though (best of both worlds :?: :D ) What's it like? It is a very, very good bike. Definitely not for everyone and many traditionalist BMW owners wouldn't like it, but so far I love it. It's n...
