Re: Third fuel strip in 600 miles
Actually I haven't trusted the fuel gauge from day one, and just fill up at 200 miles. After my 4th straight failure way back several years ago I simply stopped having it replaced as I don't think could never bring myself to trust it. Agreed it'd be nice to have it working - but trust it again, nev...

Re: Overheating?
I've just recently experiencing overheating on my '11. When on a longer ride (600-1000 miles), even stopping for a red light causes the indicator to climb higher than I've ever had prior. This happens now even when its only in the 70's. If I miss the light and have to wait 2 cycles the indicator cli...

Just saw an email from MAX about coming Schuberth test-rides in June. Can't think of a better way to see if it suits me better than my RF-1100

So you are only riding with him one-way to the conference ... go for it. I see the plusses you identified as "work-covered travel days" to get you to Nashville, so post conference you can head to Cherohala, Dragon, etc... then home and all on your own schedule. The minuses are you don;t kn...

Badbs... that seat looks great on that classic
Thanks for the writeup. After 600 miles yesterday I bailed on any more miles, have an airhawk on order - but am now considering a new seat.

Re: best tire for bmw r1200r
Best tire is a new tire  for me anyway. To the dealer tomorrow morning bright and early for my 2nd set of PR3s. Have just shy of 11k on current set, and though theres still a (tiny) bit of wear left the rear is quite square and the riding through the last sets of deluges this past week left me ...

Re: Range on a full tank
In the interest of adding more (mostly) useless data points ... today from a full tank (1/2 way up the tube) I was staring at 225 miles on the trip computer, 32 miles left showing on MTE readout ... 1 bar showing on the gauge and no low-fuel light. I only got 5.02 gallons back to the 1/2 way up the ...

Re: Anyone using SW-Motech Quick-Lock Tankbag?
I'll add in that it may take 2 tries to get it right even with the right part number - it did for me. SF is right - the Tankring part number for an '11 is TRT.00.640.12801/B My 1st one last summer just would not sit flush, though it seemed perfectly in alignment when you set it flat on a surface.
