Thanks. Very helpful info. Best wishes, --Roger Hey Roger don't run away with that "Thanks. Best wishes" thing, tell us if you tried the suggestions and if it works? Actually I wanted to know because my 08 had tough time going into first from neutral sometimes, t...

Re: Mandatory ABS

I have seen too many motorcycles operated by the least common denominator. The ABS is great with me, as well as the linked brakes. I prefer airbags in my car too. If you want simple, better go waaay back to the old air cooled boxer you can fix with a welder and a sledgehammer. No CANBUS for you! Wh...

Re: Colorado Photos 10/2011

=D> Nice, the best time of my life is traveling on my bike, camping and enjoying the outdoors, you had a blast and I envy you.

Tell me about your windshield please and how do you like it? It looks great on your bike, brings this classic BMW styling to the bike's lines.

Cheers

Re: Observations On My 2012 R1200R…

@ Don Eilenberger, you sir are absolutely right on all the points you addressed above. I agree 100% on the helmet noise issue, that's been my personal experience as well, and I have the Schubert S1. A few months ago I test rode the new K1600 GTL and no matter where I would adjust the electrical wind...

Re: Got a 1600GTL as a loaner

I agree with Dave on the K6 bikes and actually what everyone else said so far. I test rode the K1600 GTL and immediately after the K test I tried the new (old) 2011 R1200R boxer. Fan factor definitely goes to the R no question about it as far as I like it and for every day use again the R is the bet...

Re: Just Ordered My Bike Today

I'm really excited but have a long wait for the bike. It is always good to have something to look forward to though. I'll be sure to post pics and thoughts once I've been able to experience the bike. I've already started Farkle hunting online. There goes my wallet.
Congrats on the new bike, ...

Re: Multistrada

Thanks Maxx. I had a HP2 Megamoto until last year and I always serviced the bike including valves myself. I don't think the new boxer DOHC engine would be much more difficult. I never test rode the MS 1200 but from what I seen they are good looking babes. I rode the new 2011 boxer R classic and was ...

Re: Multistrada

@ Maxx Thank you Sir, very appreciated! @ AndyRR Replacing the belts doesn't worry me much, it's the valve servicing. I intend to do all the maintenance myself. So when you say the belts replacement doesn't worry you, is that mean that they are easily accessible and easy to replace? Valves as you sa...

I called the BMW NA motorcycle division a few weeks ago asking the same questions, however at that time the 2011 R was at least on their website but with very little info and no pricing and options, the young lady who answered the phone was clueless about what she was talking about. After realizing ...

Re: For those who adjust their own valves

I think this tread covers only the single overhead cam and not the new DOHC engine, as far as I know the new engine requires bigger intervals between valve adjustment. The original poster doesn't specify which model bike he's inquiring about.

Re: 2011 leaking fork seals anyone?

hi xbpod this is not right , so if you left it for a week it would be dribbling down the fork? after a ride you ran your finger round the dust cover it would be almost a drip of oil?. if a few on the forum have the same problem then there must be a batch of inferior seals fitted...... :D piston . :...

I had a Laser titanium on my K1200S and it's a great system, I think it would look very cool on the boxer.
