Yep, got a gallon jug in garage right now.
I worked for Mobil when Rotella T, Delo 400, and Delvac 1300 Super were battling for commerical application supremacy. I've used all three products for Oilhead crankcase oils in 15W-40.

Oh man, make me jealous.
I don't have the time to ride over, nor the cash to ship a bike. But maybe I can fly and rent for a day, if only to meet some of the regulars and finally attend a Bash after the sole western states meet-up in Torrey, UT 2006 (?).

Re: Need new tires....what do you like?

I'll be ordering the Metzler RoadTec 01 at my local dealer tomorrow. Staying with the factory size rear, 170-60. This comes after obsessively searching for and reading every written tire review, video, and discussion board thread I could find. It comes down to people's impressions of quick/smooth h...

Re: Need new tires....what do you like?

Since posting above here I was taking my S1000XR up to the dealership Tuesday and had another non-repairable puncture. Pirelli Angel GT rear again, that's four flats with these tires within 6 months on three different bikes. I've decided to try out a set of Dunlop Roadsmart 3 tires on the R1150R. I...

Re: One heated grip

Finally got the tank off and found the problem. You guys were right, syskospain, sweatmark, towerworker, and AZBMWRIDER. The wires are both broken somewhere between the connection under the tank and the right side grip but there's no place where the insulation looks damaged enough to cause a proble...

Read this ADV thread: https://advrider.com/f/threads/clutch-problem-r1150gs-solved.1338045/ If DIY is not your preference, then at least you know what's involved in clutch slave cylinder and clutch disk replacement. Your bike's symptoms match the ADV thread's OP (original post)... I asked above if y...

Don't know what differences there might be between the OEM GS parts in those early R1150** years, but R & GS = same drivetrain.

Re: Empty Socket

I've had 3 R1150R bikes: only the 2002 Roadster had a coding plug (CCP), while Rocksters had/have none. My earlier oilheads each had a coding plug. Check out Roger's thread in ADV: https://advrider.com/f/threads/coding-plugs-r1100-r1150-decoded.765242/ The ECU works via fuel & timing map(s), whe...

Re: Hot lead off starter solenoid for electrical acc ?

Certainly it will work - using the hot (+) terminal at starter - but one of my jobs here at R1150R.org is to advocate fuel tank removal practice for ALL Roadster and Rockster owners. Just do it. Start the new year right!

Bought used Sargent from another member here, good seat for the past 12 years, and continues to serve on Rockster1 under new ownership.

Re: A Few Loose Ends

As I find my way around this new (to me) bike I found (rather obviously) 2 wires coiled in the tool roll space under the back seat. The ends are insulated but I wonder what they can be there for - perhaps an optional under seat courtesy light! More inexplicable is the small socket plug I found (att...
