Re: Speed Bleeder/Bottoms Up

...Here's my question: At the end of the video, the protagonist states that you can bleed from the bottom up with the speed bleeder That seems counter-intuitive. Isn't the whole idea, a valve that allows the fluid to exit but does not permit air to enter? Cam brake fluid enter but not air? If speed...

Re: Accessory plug on 1150 Rockstar

Ditto. Heated grips, center stand, and accessory socket were Rockster factory options. Edition 80 version lacked only the center stand... My 80 edition (japanese spec) has a centre stand... Interesting. North American version Edition 80s didn't have a center stand, but were otherwise fully equipped...

Re: Noise from Michelin Road 5

Just throwing this out to see if I'm the only one. I noticed a whining noise that seemed to be coming from front end and decided at 140,000 miles it might be the wheel bearings. I installed a set of premium (not internet specials) SKF bearings and the noise was still there. The sound is almost non-...

Re: Fuel Pump

Congrats on messy job completion. I've got a filter change in my immediate future - as much as I enjoy pulling the tank off, pulling the innards out is not fun. I've been happy with the AF-XIED as means to revised fueling, but I don't know if anyone has done a side-by-side comparison with the Gemi c...

Re: Minimal pannier supports

Those pannier mounts are interesting, new to me. Just when you think you have seen everything-oilhead over the past 20+ years... I was reminded that there's always something potentially new out there, when my brother sent an Italian Rockster-spec windscreen to me for install before I delivered Rocks...

Re: Not Starting

One of the fuel injector electrical connectors is not fully seated, or otherwise disconnected. Edit 6/2/19 : Wrong - not if you are starting and riding the bike as described below.

2nd guessing - battery as suggested by James, or wiring fault at forward subframe.

Re: Black engines

I believe the R1150R only ever came with the 385mm Paralever arm (same as the Rockster). I'm hoping that there's a black 365mm Paralever arm somewhere in the inventory! Agreed re: 385mm for all R1150R Roadster and Rockster. And the reason I painted the 365mm GS strut for Rockster1 was as you have a...

Re: Old Fourm members

Back in the fall of 2002 I had just bought a 2003 R1150R and was checking out web forums which was a fairly new and exciting concept then. I ran across this fellow on a Harley forum. Patrick! He suggested I come over to R1150R.org so I did. My bike was traded at 80 some odd thousand miles in 2009 f...

Re: Black engines

The Rockster never had the short Paralever arm. I know the GS, GSA, and R11S Boxercup had them, but don't know if those bikes ever came with the black engine option. Me and paint have a hate - hate relationship ;) I'm the same regarding paint. But had measure of success painting a 365mm GS strut fl...

Budget for Riding Season

News posted yesterday: The five highest average gas prices in the U.S. are all in the western region of the country: California: $4.016 Hawaii: $3.586 Washington: $3.424 Oregon: $3.323 Nevada: $3.323 Ouch. That hits me where I ride, specifically home (OR), a couple of long weekend trips into NorCal,...

Re: Fork Shrouds?

That's a legit R1150R in murdered-out flat black glory. Actually, not a bad effort! If I would have known about the fork shroud inquiry, then I could have looked up that shop while in Brazil last week. Guessing those shrouds or covers are thin gauge plastic tube. Was it CycleRob who praised the meri...

What could it be? Voltage measured at charging is 13.6 and 12.9V after one or two attempts to start with that chirpoing noise. I tried connecting the car battery and same issue persists so I am convinced it is not the battery. Is it starter relay or something else? How did you connect the car batte...

Looks good! UK bike? Does not look like it's seen much winter weather.

I took your advice a few years ago and bought Brembo-version calipers that need rebuild, then replace Tokicos on my Rockster2.

Congrats on the new bike.
