Re: Anybody Use the Touratech R1200R/Suzuki Bandit Handguard

Max's NH installed these on my wife's '12 R1200R after discovering they couldn't "correctly" install the GS guards. They work well and seem to provide as much protection as the regular GS ones on my '09 R1200R and are cheaper :) Would they work with throttlemaster? I just installed these ...

Re: Anybody Use the Touratech R1200R/Suzuki Bandit Handguard

I am also intersted in purchasing some handguards and have not seen these Tourtech ones yet, so thanks! I have been looking at the ones offfered by Acerbis, and BarkBuster, but I think that these Toutechs look a little sportier than those. If anyone has a pair of these I would like to hear how they ...

Re: new guy checking in

Johnny, Love your first post! Very informative... Look, the final drive is super easy to do yourself. Take the exhaust and rear wheel off (15 minutes max). Take the fill plug off ( If memory serves right it is a sensor plug) and remove the drain plug on the bottom of the drive. Make sure you measure...

I would also add that I routinely place my legs on the motor on longer rides to strech out for a few minutes and the heat has never bothered me. Of course I wear at least jeans.

Re: Pulled the Trigger

Congratulations to both of you! It is really an amazing bike.

If you are looking for windscreen that is tall enough to sit behind, I would recommend a Cee Bailey. I do not have one, but from the pictures I have seen on this forum I think they would meet your requirements.

Hope this helps.

Re: I just ordered a new R1200R Classic...my 1st Beemer ever

Congrats on the purchase. You will love this bike.

BTW, if coming off a inline-4 this engine will seem a little course during the break-in period...but it gets smoother with time.

Re: Speed Camera Detectors in France

Thanks for the heads up! I am traveling to Paris in April and planned on using my Garmin to help with the cameras. Oh well, I guess I will have to travel the posted speed limit. With the traffic and all those dang toll booths it probably won't matter anyways.

Sometimes dealers have terrible employees. I know your pain. It is even worse when you are broke down waiting for parts you thought they ordered, but never did... #-o

Re: ISO: Extended warranties not brokered by Contego

That sounds like a pretty good deal, especially for you guys with higher miles. You can drop $800 bucks on these bikes real fast on just parts. My only concern is that I do all the maintenance myself, since I trust myself more than others...and save a few bucks soing it. Would they allow me to do th...

Wayne, From one motorcycle "brother" to another, I hope you continue to regain full recovery from your illness! It sounds like you are very fortunate to be alive, thank God. Back to the motorcycle, have you researched air or hydralic shifters? I remember when I was thinking of bracket raci...

Re: Ceramic coating pipes and nitrogen in tires=2 for 1 pos

Concerning the ceramic coating of the exhaust pipes- I don't think it is crazy question...I have been thinking of it myself. It seems that there are two thoughts on the subject on this forum. Some guys like the look of the dark exhaust and think of it as a BMW thing/rite of passage. Some think as we...

Re: Soon new owner with some questions...:)

Sasha, Gruß Gott vom Regensburg! I also have a 2011 R1200R and fully recommend it! Try and get one with the most options/additions since used ones can be priced similiar no matter the options already on the bike. You can try PIA Motors in Regensgurg. I was there this week and they had about (6) 2012...

Re: Givi E193 Topcase Rack Adapter

SF_Hooligan, Thanks for the advice! After researching the GIVI SR5100 rack I am not sure if it would work with the stock BMW (Optional) rack. It looks like you would have to remove the factory rack and lose having the ability to have side bags. For me I think "Shakey's" method will work th...

Re: Givi E193 Topcase Rack Adapter

I have a Givi Monokey E360 (40 Liter) case that I had on my last bike that I would like to use. I had been looking at the E193 adapter plate or the SW-Motech adapter plate, does anyone know which one fits better with less adjusting/longer bolts/drilling holes? I really wish the BMW racks were easier...
