Re: Highway pegs

I had a pair of Ilium Works pegs on mine, and have since moved them to my GS. But they don't attach to the crash bars; rather they mount where the crashbars mount. I don't believe you can use the two together. I like them, though they are a bit too close for me (34" inseam). They are adjustable...

Re: R1200R, Slow Seep, U-Turns, Clutch and Clunk

Thanks for posting the advice. I'm not too bad at this, I can always do it in a street and usually within a lane, but I'm not great within a parking space width like in the MSF course. I'm going to try your advice. :-k

Re: Ram Mount help

When I started using RAM Mount stuff, I felt the same way. One thing you can do is look at a pre-built solution and then look at the component parts. You can then, generally, buy those parts individually. So find a handlebar mount that would work if you were using some Garmin GPS or whatever, but is...

Re: R1200 Water Cooled

I think the going rumor is the engine will make it in the RT next year. Maybe the R will come out along side it or follow it by a year. I like the new GS fine. It's just as ugly as my GS, but it has cruise control. =D> So many great bikes, not sure if I'd go directly to a new GS. I might have to exp...

Re: Instrument Screen like the F800R?

Right, thanks. It's not too bad. But something even smaller would look a bit cleaner, or industrial ... or something. :) Maybe it's also the asymmetry of the one on the F800R ...

Instrument Screen like the F800R?

Does anyone make a small "screen" that covers the instruments like this available for the R1200R? I like it. :)

Thanks.

Wouldn't people interested in sales go to the sale section? Is there really a need to cross-post here?

Welcome. Looks like you have a nice setup. I'm sure you will continue to enjoy the bike ... It is a ton of fun.

I use a Givi e52 on my bike. I use their top plate adapter. How is your top case attached?

Exactly the same for me. I read quite a bit about them before purchasing and based my purchase on that.

Nice Ride Today

It's been in the 70s in Dallas, so my wife and I headed out on our bikes for the first decent ride in a while. I usually take my GS on longer rides because it's so comfortable, fun and, well, it's my main bike. I've ridden the R mostly around town, with just a couple of medium length rides. Despite ...

Re: Consumer Reports

I also think BMW owners (in general) tend to be more mature and sophisticated riders. They also pay a premium for their motorcycles. Those factors likely contribute to an increased probability of complaint when issues arise. Maybe if we were a bit more sophisticated, we would take our $s elsewhere....

Re: To Plug or not to Plug

Too bad there's not a lot of reliable research on this. From reading other forums (advrider) it seems like the sticky rope stuff works great, and other methods too. Rationally, I think patches are usually fine. But I don't want to worry about it. I'd get a new tire. I had a brand new tire get a nail...

Re: Screens compared

Very nice. I wish I had done the same with the screens on my bike. Here is the original ZTechnik. It was cut down a bit. It seemed to work for the previous owner, who bit shorter than me. It didn't work for me. http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--IxDcbUo790/Tpd7mtBpHJI/AAAAAAAAEos/iZ3K5eKgjrE/s400/P1...
