Can't please everyone.

Some folks don't like Rolls Royce, doesn't mean they're bad, just don't like 'em.

Re: Another Tire Thread

I switched over from the OEM BT-21's @ 5K miles. Now with just over 12K the front looks new and the rear shows some wear, but it has another 3 ~ 4K left in it. I can see two rears to one front with these. Not sure if I'll stick with a PR3 or move up the the PR4 when the rear wears out. The differenc...

Re: Booster plug

Had mine almost 2 years. Worked from the start and unless I'm imagining it, seems to have gotten better over time.

Very smooth and I can run smooth in 1st gear if I want, no need to go to 2nd to eliminate the surge.

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

Job is done, pretty painless.

I called ahead and set an appointment, brought a book and cooled my heels reading, done in an hour or so.

I will admit to sitting on a bike or two while I was there.

The more I look at the other BMW's, the more I realize the R1200R is right for me.

Re: 304 miles on tripmeter and showing 159miles to empty..

Had my new strip installed today and all's well again.

Call your dealer and make an appointment, they appear to be accepting this issue as a reality and are not fighting about warranty replacements.

Should take @ an hour or so to do the job.

Hope this helps

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

Add me to the list. My ride has @ 11.5K miles on it and I thought I was going to squeek by without a failed fuel strip, but no.... Right out of the blue, 3/4 full tank and then - low fuel light, display shows empty. I'm going to search for the electrical cure I had seen previously using power to jum...

Re: What are your Wunderlich Trophy fairing impressions?

I'm north of you in Pacifica. You're welcome to meet up with me and check it out. I had the OEM sport screen, swapped it out for a CeeBailey and it was good - save for the turbulence and noise. Got the Wunderlich fairing and it dropped the turbulence to my neck, cutting out much of the noise. Got a ...

Re: Bought a Schuberth

Thanks for that. I wear sunglasses so that plus the drop down sun shade... we're good. I was weak today, I did some shopping and went to my local dealer where I bought the helmet and challenged them to price match on the SRC bluetooth, and they did AND beat the price while they were at it! So, you t...

Re: Bought a Schuberth

Other than the wind trying to seperate me from the bike at freeway speeds, that sounds like a solution. The original sport screen allowed more wind than I was interested in to impact my torso. Truth be told, the CeeBailey screen I was using wasn't bad at all, save for the turbulence and noise. So fa...

Re: Bought a Schuberth

My plan was to get the connector from BMW and find a way to mount it out of the way, probably on the front of the tank, but still not certain.

After that a USB adapter and then a USB cord from my droid to connect.

Hope this helps.

Bought a Schuberth

A C3 Pro. I did it because of the noise the R generates. I have been using an Shoei X-11 which is a great helmet - but - now that I have a Wunderlich Trophy fairing the turbulent air is redirected to my neck area. This is the only thing the X-11 is deficient on. It's made to move a lot of air and no...

Check into Keith Code. He makes instructional videos, operates a race school and is very good at making things clear. I watched his vids repeatedly as I was learning to ride. I started riding late in life, but based on these vids, I have transitioned well. There's a philosophy of riding called, &quo...

Re: BMW R1200 2009 VS BMW 2011 is it worth upgrading

I believe the forks are slightly larger in diameter and the engine is a bit smoother and more powerful. There might be a slight difference in the FD. Not sure here but perhaps the drain plug might be different. Is it worth a $3k difference? I suppose that's really up to you. If $3k is no big deal, t...

Re: Questions from a prospective buyer

Congratulations! Like others here, mine has everything but ESA and at first I felt disappointed, but after a short time I found that replacement shocks of high quality - far and away better than the OEM Showa's - were similar in price to the OEM Showa's and superior in every way to the Showa ESA. Po...

Re: What did your R12R or you get for Christmas?

Mine got a new facelift with a Trophy fairing.

Once it had this and the turbulence was lowered to the top of my shoulders, the need for heated gear became apparent.

So...

I bought a Gerbings jacket liner with a heat controller.

Why I waited so long for heated gear I'll never know.
