Re: Differences between 2009 and 2013?

2011 was the year of the "facelift" as a result, the bike looks a bit different in the front and the windshield mounting hardware is not the same as previous years. Also, beefier forks, sculptural bars, different headlight mounting and rear grab). A more scooped "comfort" seat.

Re: Finally Upgraded to the R1200R

Nice looking bike!

BTW, believe it or not, that's the BMW "touring" windshield. The sport shield is even shorter.

The cap by the footpeg is missing on purpose. It's so water doesn't get trapped causing rust.

Congrats.

Re: New Roadster

Telelever straight line performance is rock solid, especially at highway speeds, and so is braking. I also like it because it makes a BMW unique. I like the telelever for what it is but road feel does suffer and the weight is heavier (unsprung weight too). It's like, rather than feeling the traction...

Re: New Roadster

It looks ok but if I were in the market for a bike like this, it would be the S1000R

Re: Booster plug

Roger or Deilenberger. I may be a bit skeptical because I know you have a product to sell. Do you have links to the test graphs/charts that show how the BMW system learns and adapts to the Booster Plug or similar product? How many key cycles or miles does it take for the system to adapt out the Boos...

Lost rider,

I tend to think you're spot on about the telelever. Not that the telelever is bad and I don't dislike it, but it may not be as necessary any more.

I always like your pics too. Keep posting them.

Re: Is BMW weaning us off Telelever?

It must be just me then. The new R9T seems to be grabbing a lot of positive attention and much of it is centered on its looks. A small part of the reason I bought a BMW is that it is a slight bit different and doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone.

Re: Is BMW weaning us off Telelever?

After hearing everyone sing the praises of the telelever I have to say I don't miss it one bit on the RnineT. Maybe the telelever is better than USD forks, maybe not. I just know I much prefer the handling of the RnineT. That could be due to other factors such as the change in the geometry but I do...

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.

Is it just me or does the RnineT look about 2/3 scale when compared to the R1200R in the first pic of you at the dealer? I'm sure it's just an optical illusion but kinda funny. I went and sat on one today at the local dealer and the RnineT is better looking than the R1200R and feels a little lighter...

Re: What are your Wunderlich Trophy fairing impressions?

I think the bike looks pretty good with the Wunderlich but I can see your point. I think the bike probably looks best with the sport screen but my main concern was function.

Re: What are your Wunderlich Trophy fairing impressions?

It's been a while since I did mine but I remember that there is extra lengths of turn signal wiring under the headlight "visor" that allows you to route the wiring as necessary.

Re: What are your Wunderlich Trophy fairing impressions?

I'd have to agree with most of what has been said. I'm 5'9" and I've tried a few different configurations on different bikes over the years including the BMW Touring Shield and BMW Sport Shield on the R12R. The Wunderlich fairing is probably the best windshield/fairing I have used. Buffeting is...

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.

I'd have to agree with Lost Rider about the telelever front fork. My next bike will most likely not have a telelever front end. The linked brakes are nice I can't argue against them but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me either way. Although the telelever front end is brilliant at preventing front...

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

I'd have to agree with Matt. Although the primary factor in diagnosing buffeting problems is the windshield, the helmet does play a role. I have two different helmets and one is louder and buffets (reacts) more than the other on the same bike. Helmet choice does matter in the war against buffeting.

Owned at least three different HDs and three different BMWs. The only one that wouldnt start, once, was a BMW, EWS failure. Just sayin'. That being said, I do prefer BMws.

Re: EFI Mods

I have the Accelerator Module (compact version). I have no doubt that the Xied's work better than simple temp spoofers (Accelerator Module, Booster Plug, etc) , but have my doubts about whether the system adapts out the Accelerator Module or Booster Plug devices. If it does, it may be just partially...

Re: Trip meter problem

Guess you're going to have to start using the odometer, rather than the trip meter, and write down the miles on every fill-up. Hopefully BMW can chase down your problem under warranty. BTW did you know that the trip meters and odometer do not count miles the same. One adds miles a little faster than...

Re: 2010 R12, looking for tail bag

I just replaced an '04 R1150R with a '10 R1200R. I loved the 1150, best bike ever. My experience so far is that the 1200 is even better. One thing I haven't been able to find: for the 1150 I had a soft tail bag with a hard base that clicked onto the top of the luggage rack and shared a key with the...

Re: Buying Fuel in the US

On the subject of gas, I don't know if you have much ethanol in Australia but here in the US it is everywhere. This site has an app for your smart phone you can use to locate stations that have ethanol free gas. Often, only one grade of the gas these stations sell is ethanol free (usually the highes...
