K75 Way Too Rich
I have a k75S that is running extremely rich. It will start but fuel will literally drip from the exhaust. I have checked the fuel pressure, changed the water temperature sensor and now have the air flow meter on the bench. The temperature sensor on that checks out and the spring on the vane appears...

Re: Heated Grips
Just checked and the grips do have wires running into the end of the handlebars, so I have the switch, the fuse is in the fuseblock and the grips appear to be the heated variety. I guess I need to start troubleshooting to see what problems there are. I am just wondering if there is any connection at...

Re: Heated Grips
So, if I take the bar ends off and see no wire going back into the handlebar I can probably assume that they took the heated grips off? I have to think that even if that is the case, if the switch and other components are there it wouldn't be an incredibly costly venture to put the grips back on.

Heated Grips
When I bought my R1150R the gentleman told me that the reason that the heated grips didn't function had something to do with the throttle control that had been installed. I really didn't give it much thought, but after 30,000 miles of riding, some of it in very cool weather, I am more than intereste...

Is anyone from mid Missouri planning to go to Harrison Arkansas for the rally next weekend (October 1-4)?

Re: Sticky Brake Lever
Spray lube fixed the problem. I think a fluid change makes sense as well.

Sticky Brake Lever
My front brake lever feels a bit strange, occasionally it feels like it drags a bit then the brakes engage more harshly than normal. The servo seems to be kicking in as it should and the fluid in the reservoir on the lever is good. Could simply putting some spray lube on the lever help or does this ...

Re: sputtered and died...
Got it, I will do that when I get home. Everything sounds pretty good except when I let off the starter button there is a little bit of a rubbing sound near the flywheel. I wonder if I scuffed something up when I pinned it to break the nut on the pulley loose. At any rate, it is such a relief to hea...

Re: sputtered and died...
Eureka... pulling the fuse worked, it fired right up and I just got back from a quick ride. Is there anything else I should do after replacing the HES?
I can't thank you all enough for all of the great advice. Hopefully, someday I can chime in with something that will help someone.

2002, 30,000 miles. I thought about the wire loom but didn't know how to chase that down.

Re: sputtered and died...
I put it all back together today to trailer it home and await parts. After I put it back together, it fired right up ran great for a few minutes. I turned it off and tried it again after short while, but when I turned on the key, the fuel pump whined for more than the normal time, the tach jumped ar...

Re: sputtered and died...
I do have another question, when I called the shop in Iowa City, they said that there were two sensors and that they were around $350 each. They also said that there was no way to bench test them to see if they were bad, they said you had to hook it up to the computer... So is there more than one, o...

Re: sputtered and died...
I was able to pull the plugs and found no spark, the fuel pump does whine when you turn on the key and the disconnects were good. What is the Hall Effect Sensor?

sputtered and died...
On the way to the Pure Stodge Rally last night and got caught in a downpour. 25 miles later the bike started cutting out and eventually died. I will say that while sitting alongside the road I kind of remembered that the bike stuttered a little about an hour before I had issues. Anyway, I trailered ...

Re: Drilling out my baffle
The only insert that I have is the one with about a 45 degree bend, I think there may also be a straight insert available, but thought drilling holes in the one I have might be something to try. I haven't checked too close, but the bend in the insert may only be because of the angle of the outlet on...
