Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

Wow ......6'7" !!! Can you try out for wide receiver at Alabama ? I'm a mere 5'7" and the sports screen works well for me. It has the air stream flowing right across the top of my helmet, hitting just above the top of the face shield. Certainly less buffeting than without a screen. Of cour...

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

Hello John, what is your intention if I may ask? That a manufacturer should be forced to call back a product for every little flaw discovered? I do not think there is a problem with the low fuel warning. It appears that the same is working well (although not very precise) on 1000s if not 10000s of ...

Re: R1200R Decal just too appealing

Mine was painted on by BMW with a little something extra that I requested.
A good fellow in Italy contacted me wanting my permission to do his that way so, there's one somewhere in Italy as well.
I recommend a new paint job.

Re: Worn Tires = Stiff Handling ??

The shape of the tire goes bad long before the tread is worn out; espically if most your riding is in a straight line.
You life depends on them....why pinch pennies in this department !

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!

I'm puzzled as to why so many continue to mount electronics low and directly in front of their bikes instrumentation and where you have to remove all your hands weight from the handlebars if you have to give the module a poke while under-way. Think !!!! http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc160/H2Ri...

Re: Adv touring tire for R

I'd be very worried riding on a car tire; it's not designed to be on a two wheeled machine. Please don't ride down the roads I ride on with that thing. Accident waiting to happen......and you might consider how your insurance is going to handle your case when they discover you were using an inapprop...

Re: Caught in the rain on a trip, what do you do?

I try never to get in a hurry so, if it's going to be a 30 minute to an hour rain I'm prone to finding shelter and waiting it out.

Re: Sheepskin seat cover

I once sat on one driving a 75 Suzuki GT380 from L.A. to Alabama. It was soft to sit on.

BUT...ride your bike more and you'll get use to your stock seat.

Re: Trusted the computer: RAN OUT OF GAS!!!!

I just drove my 09 R1200R 265 miles. The computer was showing 58 mpg and 60 miles to empty. I filled up with exactly 4.6 gallons. Pretty good. BUT As you can see, I was using the trip. I think as long as the computer is showing I'm getting 55 mpg or better I'll feel comfortable going 250 miles befor...

Re: googlead.g.doubleclick on this site !!!

Without the operating system , and browser (and version number) figuring out what is going on will be hard. We all have the same bikes, but not computers. The issue is not with the site, it's on your computer . First thing to try is to go into your internet options, and clear the temp files and coo...

googlead.g.doubleclick on this site !!!

I think this site is using googlead.g.doubleclick.net, maybe to load ads or something. i'm no expert but it gets loaded on my machine and keeps me from being able to use the back arrow to return to a previous page.

Can someone check out what i think I'm saying and get rid of this problem ?

..... :-k .....Quit buing your socks at the local flee market. Try some higher quality socks. Taller socks that go up over the back of your calf should keep them up but with the wrong material that could get hot in the summer.

Bump..

Just a reminder. You guys need to really come by. Just a great bunch of wrenchers with our vintage machines.
Best time to catch us is in early morning or late afternoon as we're usually out riding during the day.
