I like the control offered by using a small(SMALL!) wire cutter with sharp points for these ties- a Dremel tool is not my idea of what I want around the wires.

My comment wasn't about the material that the cable ties are made from!!! The issue is that they can cramp the wires leading to the grip area controls!!! Irecently switched out my Chinese clone for a nice Shad 42 litre topcase. They come with the mtg plate kit unlike Givi-arm & a leg thing for plate. The shads are cheaper & quality too,backrest you can easily make and just fasten on or do W/O.

I too, reuse the oem clamps. Insert the correct size,very small, standard straight screwdriver into the slot of the "pinch" and wiggle & twist until you can slide off the line. I use a pair of small side cutters to re-close the oem clamp.The tubing fix/filter substitute inside the tank...

No problem here with speed bleeders.Hardest thing of whole process is preserving the paint from fluid on various surfaces! BMW says every 2 years on the fluid because of hygroscopic action. Cheaper to follow that than not. Clutch spline lube is less often.

BMW's are a bit clunky on gears(IMO the 6 speed is an improvement over the 5 speed R bikes) but you can investigate using some Moly in your tranny-some use the Honda product & there are others,the BMWMOA web forum will provide threads on this, not sure about here.
