Re: Some comparative thoughts on ownership
My thoughts on ownership which you will never see mentioned is that Don't go around corners in a high gear thinking you are in a low gear... Outcome... engine stalls and the your ability to stay on the bike will be tested due to the unusual design characteristics giving gyroscopic precession forces ...

condensation or water ingress does funny things to electrics especially
if it takes a long time to dry out do as Cyclerob suggests, what i normally
do is scratch the indicator globe gently across some concrete to remove
the lead oxide on the terminal.

Agree with Cyclerob, YES. For the reason that parts are almost the same price for old bikes as what they are for new bikes if one major thing goes wrong you have spent the same as a bike with Low Miles and own a bike which you will never sell without major losses... ask Daddy for a few dollars to ge...

Re: REV COUNTER NOT WORKING - INTERMITTENTLY!
In 30+ years of riding, 25 motorcycles and counting, I've NEVER had an electrical problem with a Jap bike. Not so much as a blown bulb.I buy a BMW and I've now got an electrical fault which is way beyond my capability to repair. I've got a horrible feeling this is going to be very expensive. Somebo...
