Re: Cracked handgrip

Order new rubber grips from ebay, peel of the old ones with a utiility knife, put some towels on the steer & lever/button housing, spray the handgrip & the inside of the new rubber grips with glue, slide it over while everything is still wet. You have some time to position the new grips befo...

Re: Which BMW topbox

Not sure. For the RT case you need a carrier. See part 4 on this picture: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/y/v/136.png The bottom of the topcase latches into the carrier. I guess you could try to manufactur somekind of thingy to attachment the carrier to your luggage rack, but...the RT carrier is...

Re: Which BMW topbox

For getting the RT topcase attached you will have to make modifications to your bike. There is no attachment available from BMW. Have been thinking on modifing it myself. I read on some K1200RS forum that you should be able to attach the genuine BMW Funduro topcase without any modification. The lugg...

Re: Riding with earbuds and music

Pressing against the eardrums, hearing damage. Although I do know that many people ride with these I cannot recommend it in any way.
Better of looking for helmet speakers, something like this: http://senabluetooth.com/wp-content/upl ... eakers.jpg

Re: '03 r1150r af-xied rocks it.

We have a lot of GS's riding around in Holland with a Recyclizer (http://www.novitech.nl/bestelleneng.html). Costs 35 euro (+/- 45 USD), excactly the same piece of kit. Fools the O2 sensor to richen the fuel mixture. No experience myself, just thought it would be a nice comment on this thread since ...

Re: What's the deal with turn signal bulbs

Had the same experience a few months back. The chrome bulbs where way too expensive, local autoshop asked 17 euro for a set. :S These are not standard prices, I used to get them for much less. Am riding with the clear lense with regular bulbs. They give better lighting than the chromed bulbs, and si...

Re: Modifications to your bike

Thought I post it here, since I read in some threads not everyone get the GS handguards fitted without modifications. Bolted them on yesterday morning without any modifications. Just make sure you get the mountingparts on the inner side on first, afterwards push it on the bar ends & screw everyt...

Same here. Must be something really simple. Switched lines?
What kind of material did you use for the new lines? They don't pull vacuum?

Re: Shad seat question

It's not OEM, but can't really comment on the quality compared to Corbin and sorts. I must admit that I did not even know they made seats, I know Shad as a luggage manufacturer. They make all sorts of cases which work really well actually. Build quality is ok, cases are sold for affordable prices (l...

Re: Changing grips

Dead simple. Changed grips on several heated GS's. Carefully draw back the old grips making small incissions to cut the rubber open. Takes a couple of minutes on each side. Afterwards take of all leftover rubber parts that might be sticking on the heat elements. Just be cautious not to cut the eleme...

TCX Street, looks like a sneaker & wears like houseslippers. Very comfy, not very waterproof. And low TCX gore-tex boots. My favorite boots by far are Gerba dutch police boots. Worn by the police- & to some extend the military force before switching over to Oxtar: http://img122.imageshack.us...

Clock lighting fix

Recently I noticed a couple of dash lights went dark. The speedo was only half lit, clock was completely dark. Took of the windshield & dash caps, gently pushed the instruments. Issue was easy to pinpoint. The speedo bulb behind the red part was burned, so much it looked like a chrome bulb. Easy...

Re: Puig Screen

Don't worry, it will fit. Puig makes all sorts of universal screens for a wide range of bikes. I'm not to keen on the fitting material, always looks a bit cheap.
Wunderlich is no different. Most of the main components look great, but the fitting (especially with handguards & screens) look awfull.

Schuberth S1 Pro. Picked it up a few months ago for 180 Euro. Dirt cheap for a helmet like this. Had a S1 & S1 Pro in te past, perfect fit. 8) http://foto.scigacz.pl/cache/imgs/_w750/gallery/akcesoria/Schuberth_S1_Pro_ekstremalnie_cichy/SH_S1PRO_BETA_BLACK_P2_b_01.jpg Three years ago I was in th...

Re: Rockster 2004 - Oil Preassure Light on

First of all when you see the oil pressure light go on just stop what you're doing & first figure out what's causing the sensor to go off. It's a warning light, continuing driving is not a good idea if you don't know the cause. If the engine overheats the oil becomes so thin that it loses it's f...

Front fork section question

Hey guys. Probably a stupid question, but I never really paid attention to this. Is the front fork/wheel/steer supposed to be 100% rigid, or is there always supposed to be just a bit of "frame" flexibility? Reason I'm asking is I reccently placed a missing dust cap on the top of the right ...

Re: Exhaust System for the Rockster

You can find these in anyy half decent auto parts shop. Just measure the diameter of the collector piping & search for a nice fit in the shop. I used the combo on my GS for a couple of months. It's messy at best. The Mototronic levels out the lack of a real exhaust pipe, so you basicly won't not...

Hey ldeijkva, I love the look of your shield. I went on a search and found the part number for one in smoke, but I couldn't find anything in the USA in clear, like yours. I think that I would prefer clear; your thoughts? You wouldn't happen to have a BMW part number would you? The smoke kit is avai...
