Hi!
My front Ohlins shock has started leaking. 2006 R1150R 2-spark non-ABS.
Wondering if anyone here knows of an Ohlins authorized shop in the Toronto, Canada area that can rebuild Ohlins shocks.
Looking to do both front and back shocks.
Thanks!

Re: Battlax T30 EVO GT spec?
do you carry a lot of weight, or do you do a lot of tight fast cornering? IF its the former, it might be worth it. Might have harder compound, vs stickiness. I don't carry alot of weight (I'm 175lbs), no luggage, no passengers. I dont do as much fast cornering as I would like. mostly commuting (hig...

Battlax T30 EVO GT spec?
Hello everyone! I'm looking to get a new set of tires for my bike, and have heard good things about the Battlax T30 EVO's. I'm not sure if I should get the tires with the "GT spec" or not. Bridgestone says the "GT spec" is for heavier vehicles. they don't explain how heavy a &quo...

Re: Width of Rockster bars
I have Rockster handlebars that I would sell you. I put them on my roadster, and they are lower, flatter and wider. I after using them for a season, I decided to go back to the stock bars. more comfortable for me. if you are interested in buying the Rockster handlebars, Pm me and let me know. cheers

weird stumble at 1400-1600rpm
hi all, quick question to all the gear-heads out there... my 2006 R1150R twin spark (45,000 km with full up-to-date service) is running really great... but... when the bike is cold, it stumbles or hesitates when the bike is idling (or constant throttle) between 1400-1600 rpm. for example, when I sta...

Re: Clock Alignment
Hi,
I had the same issue. Bugged the hell out of me!
I loosened the hex screw and lined up the clock, then I tightened the hex socket while holding the clock in its proper place.
Very easy... And now the clock is straight!

also, the Rockster has a slightly shorter front shock and the rear has a slightly longer shock.

Re: Top Three Mods/Farkles
my top three mods are:
1. Ohlins suspension front & rear, huge improvement over stock
2. Zach exhaust - way better sound
3. BoosterPlug - made engine smoother at low revs, throttle on/off response much smoother
coming up next in the not too distant future is a Sargent seat!

Re: hesitation at full throttle
hi there, I have a 2006 R1150R as well (with overdrive 6th gear). just wondering if your bike has the overdrive 6th gear as well? or just the regular 6th gear? mine accelerates differently in 6th because of the lower gearing. but I wouldn't say it "hesitates". does the engine stutter? is t...

Re: Risers or Rockster Bars?
I've put the Rockster bars on my Roadtser and it made an improvement for me. I'm 5'10", and the bars are lower and wider... makes handling a bit quicker... and on the highway at speeds of 80km/h or more, the bars are perfect. the original bars made me "sit up" more, and the added heig...

Re: New Bike Mania?
my Roadster is a keeper. i bought it for life. i've ridden lots of bikes (as an owner & test drives etc.) and nothing comes close to the R259 Roadster. i sometimes look at other bikes (Guzzi V7, Ducati's, HD sportster), but they would be "in addition to" the R1150R. and i never pull th...

Re: Decarboning pistons/exhaust chambers?
well, i'm not a mechanic... but... what i would do is wind it up in top gear to about 150km/h (93 mph) and ride it hard for about 30 minutes to an hour. i dont have any proof that this will help, but... it makes all my vehicles "feel" alot better after the hard drive. both my cars and bike...

I don't think changing the chip will stop the popping on deceleration. I have a rhinewest performance chip installed.... and when I did have a y-piece installed, it popped on decel. put the cat back on, and the popping is gone. as a few others on this board have noted, the popping is always there, n...

hi there, If you are looking for an exhaust pipe that utilizes the stock heat shield, try looking at a Zach exhaust. http://www.boxer-design.de/en/detail.asp?ID=6&pID=141 in the picture on the website, they dont have the heat shield installed. but I have the heat shield installed on mine, and it...

Re: Aftermarket shocks for the RR?
I bought a set of Ohlins for my R1150R a few years ago...
I will say that they are a huge improvement and alot more comfortable than the stock setup (and I'm not a racer!).
worth the money in my opinion.

Luggage Fixture
Hello all, i'm looking to get a set of system city cases for by beloved R... I was wondering if I could use these "luggage fixtures" to mount the luggage onto? or are these only to be used with tie-downs? (see picture) I'd rather not use the regular luggage rack because i think its aesthet...
