Re: Higher bars and cable routing.
I installed the SW_MOTECH riser barbacks on my Rockster. They gave me ~1" up and 1" back and there were no issues with the cables. Twisted Throttle has them for around $100. https://fauster.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/R1150R-Rockster-Pictures/i-4fRH87N/0/M/DSCN0740-M.jpg Shown with the SW_MOTE...

Re: GPS mount
I'm currently using my auto Garmin nuvi 1350 in the cradle. Not waterproof, but I just bring along a clear Zip-Lok bag to cover it. Worked well on a 3700-mile trip last spring on my F650GS. I've only used this mount on the Rockster a few times but I like how I can adjust the angle of the GPS unit fo...

Re: GPS mount
I got a SW Motech mount from Twisted Throttle. The base mounts using the four bar clamp bolts. I'll take some pictures and upload them shortly.

Re: Getting Intimate with Mityvac and Brake Fluid
I'm a fan of changing / bleeding my brake fluid every year. So with a new Rockster and an unknown maintenance history, I dove right in a few weekends ago. My bike is a non-ABS model so the process was pretty straightforward. Bought the bleed nipple for the clutch line and pumped up the vacuum in my ...

Re: screens
The rains finally stopped long enough for me to take the Rockster out for a spin with the BMW touring screen installed. It definitely reduces the amount of air hitting my chest but it directs the air right at the middle of my visor. Any speeds over 45 mph cause the air to slam my visor shut. Time to...

Instrument Pod M8 Mounting Screws
I don't know if this is common knowledge or if most folks here have never needed to remove the four M8x20mm screws that attach the instrument / headlamp pod to the bike. Either way, I thought I'd share my experience with removing them to save the next Rockster owner from some frustration. I picked u...

Re: screens
I scored the BMW touring windscreen off ebay last week and will be installing it this weekend for a trial. Looks like the hardest part will be getting the one instrument pod bolts removed since I stripped the torx head yesterday. Damn things were really corroded in place. This is the time of ...

Re: Howdy from a new Member in Central PA
Hey central pa member. I am also new and in central pa. I don't have any pics up yet however. Just got my 02 r1150r delivered from Florida two weeks ago. Re: Howdy from a new Member in Central PA
Bike arrived today after a two week journey from Louisiana. I'm happy with the condition and think I got a good deal. Rode it over to the title office and wow... it's a completely different bike than the F. I was just scraping pegs with the F on the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway last week and it's goi...

Re: Howdy from a new Member in Central PA
I visited the previous owner during my ride to New Orleans and surprise - he had the tea tray pillion plate! It's shipping up with the small cases. Bike is only 100 miles from my place - should be delivered any day now. I had to put a "Do not deliver before 5/4" request with the shipper si...

Howdy from a new Member in Central PA
I believe it was October of 2003. While flying from O'Hare to Hong Kong, I watched movie after movie to pass the 15 hours of flight time. One of the flicks was Paycheck starring Ben Affleck. During a chase scene, he jumped onto an R1150R Rockster with Uma Thurman riding pillion and sped away from th...
