Re: 2014 R1200R Dark White
I also have a 2014 Dark White, which I love. When I went to pick it up from the dealer, however, he told me that the bike had come with a bad battery and that they replaced it. Maybe something like that happened with yours?

Re: My seat is crushing my-well you know...
Thanks for that suggestion, Riverside, I think I may try it. And BTW, what kind of underwear do you think might help?

Re: My seat is crushing my-well you know...
This was my problem as well. I cured it with a "High" seat from Touratech/Kahedo. Excellent but expensive. Don't think any of the BMW seats will solve the problem. I had to order the seat directly from Germany as Touratech USA didn't have it.

GIVI Trekker Side Cases
I'm trying to decide which side cases to get for my new Dark White R1200R, and wondering if anyone has put Givi Trekker panniers on their bike. I think they would look kinda cool.

Re: NineT Owners Photo Thread
LR: So I see that the bars on the R9T are not the same as the R12. Different part numbers and I assume different bends, the R9T being flatter with less bend to the rear. They look like I'd prefer them to the R12 bars, but I'll have to investigate further. New bars would cost $294.00.

Re: R1200 Water Cooled
Old saying: "It's not the ships, it's the men in them." Back in 1974 I knew a young woman who road an old R60 from London to Cape Town with little more than a custom tank that held more fuel. I personally think there's nothing more foolish than the GSAs you see on the road with those giant...

Re: NineT Owners Photo Thread
One more question, LR. Are those stock bars on your bike? Somehow they look flatter, with less curve back to the rider. Thinking that might suit me better. If they are aftermarket bars, was it necessary to drill and tap them?

Re: Best Soft Luggage?
Just returned from an 860-mile jaunt through Colorado, traveling at a good clip. I did buy the WM Summit bags which worked amazingly well. Not waterproof, but I used dry bags inside purchased at Walmart. Now I'm looking for hard panniers but can't decide. OEM bags are nice but too big and expensive.

Re: cee bailey euro 21.5 on which bmw mounting bracket?
I was under the impression that the only CB screen that fits the BMW Sport bracket is the CB Sport Replacement screen. All the others higher screens require the BMW Touring bracket.

Wolfman Tank Bag
I've been looking for a tank bag for my new R1200R and settled on a Wolfman Explorer Lite, mostly because of the size (not to big) and price. This bag has straps, which is what I'm used to and prefer. But I see that there's precious little to attach it to up front, probably because of the Telelever ...

Re: NineT Owners Photo Thread
Paint job a huge improvement, IMHO. Your bike is starting to look like my beautiful Dark White 12R. All you have to do now is change that silly dual muffler for an SC Project carbon can and you're golden. A few questions: Are the front forks an improvement over the Telelever (with Ohlins) like you h...

Re: Best Soft Luggage?
Well, I've been trying to contact the FAMSA people, Bikerworld USA, but no answer to my phone calls and no response to my emails. May have to try something elsE.

Re: 2015 R1200R Water Boxer
I see that the Telelever is gone. Why would that be? Younger folk want a conventional fork?

Re: Best Soft Luggage?
Thanks for the tip, DBL. I'm going with the FAMSA bags. Which ones do you have, high or low exhaust? I think the low exhaust ones should work fine.

Best Soft Luggage?
I'm looking for a set of soft luggage for an upcoming trip. I'll be getting the hard cases when the budget allows, but until then I'd like soft bags, preferably ones that do not require a frame or other hardware. I'm looking at the Wolfman Summit bags but any thoughts or suggestions would help.

Re: R1200R out of production
I got that impression when I bought my new Dark White last month. I feel very fortunate to get that one before it was too late. BMW will probably produce a water cooled version, but I don't want or need that. Got to be heavier and more complicated. Isn't the real purpose of the WC bikes to reduce EU...

Re: S1000R Test Drive
I had a deposit down on an S1000R until I came to my senses at the last minute and bought a Dark White R1200R. I don't really like or trust computers and that bike is all about computer control. Adjust suspension 100 times a second? I don't think I'd like that or need it. Do I really want or need 16...

Re: New Roadster
I love the telelever front end on my new R12, but the key to its performance is a high-quality shock-- which the R12 doesn't have but desperately needs. I'll be adding Ohlins front and back as soon as I can afford them. It's very true that the front-end dive experienced in a panic stop with conventi...

Re: Corbin seat experience
I had Corbins on my previous BMWs: An R1100S and a R1200GS. I think the R11 seat, which was a solo saddle, was known as "The Smuggler," but they don't seem to make it anymore. It was OK at the time and looked good, which promted me to buy another for the R12. That seat was very heavy and w...
