Re: My new ride!
Well. It's the start of another season. I have spent the winter months buying and fitting all kinds of bling to the bike (including; Pazzos, Rossocromo hugger & chainguard and an EZ x-ring chain, in blue of course). http://cbmille.com/resized-image.ashx/__size/500x400/__key/CommunityServer.Compo...

Re: My new ride!
I put a set of Rizoma Radial Naked mirrors on it and a nice tailtidy with LED indicators. I also took the rear footpegs off. Now, all that's really lacking is a seat cowl (on order), a hugger (not available yet) and a set of LEDs for the front (I blew them whilst figuring out some stuff). http://www...

Re: My new ride!
Wow, that's a Honda? Looks almost like a Benelli. We don't get that model here in the US. So, what made you sell the BMW, I'm curious because I'm now going to be in the market for a new bike. Just going for more horsepower? It all started when I decided I absolutely had to have a Triumph Speed Trip...

My new ride!
A few weeks ago I sold my R1200R to buy a Honda CB1000R, it has finally arrived!

Re: It's gone!
I don't have CTS but I do suffer from numbness on alot of bikes. However, the detuned fireblade engine in the Honda is just sooooooooo smoooooooth.

Re: It's gone!
What happened to your interest in the Triumph Speed Triple? If you want HP, that is the naked bike. I test rode it for 15 mins and loved it. Then I went back and took a 40 min test ride and hated it - my right hand and foot went numb, the seat was even more unbearable than the R12R, it wasn't as sm...

It's gone!
Sold my R12R today. In the end it just didn't have the HP I wanted (plus my right hand and foot kept going numb).
Thinking about buying one of these instead:

Re: Being seduced by the darkside...
Me too! Only I like the Street Triple, 675, and the Tiger, 1050, as well. Great usable power and a lot of fun to ride. Just not sure about the long distance rides! Judging by my testride (about 30 mins) I don't think the Speed Triple would be a problem for me on longer trips. The ergos fitted me be...

Re: Brake recall
Had my recall done yesterday. Brakes feel much better, most of the spongyness I noticed after my S3 testride is gone (The brakes on the S3 are still much better though).

Danish tyre test
A Danish magazine has published a test of sporttouring and sport tyres: Sporttouring: * 1, 46 point, Dunlop Roadsmart * 1, 46 point, Metzeler Roadtec Z6 * 1, 46 point, Pirelli Diablo Strada * 4, 43 point, Michelin Pilot Road II * 5, 40 point, Bridgestone BT21 What I find most interesting in the spor...

Re: I might be leaving you...
As you all have so rightly pointed out they are not comparable bikes. In an ideal world I would indeed have both. However, if I decide on the S3 (and it is still an "IF" as just the insurance is $115/month more!) then I would have to sell the R12R to pay for the S3. I am not sure if I will...

Being seduced by the darkside...
I just got back from a test ride on a Triumph Speed Triple... Thought I'd air some of my reflections: The brakes are amazing! I thought the brakes were good on the R12R but after the Triumph they felt a bit spongey. The suspension likewise, my ESA-shod R12R is on sport-setting and now if feels like ...

Condolances...Hope you make a speedy recovery!
One question: You mentioned large quantities of oil which implies damage to the cylinder heads. Do you have cylinder protectors on your bike? I ask simply because I have the plastic BMW ones and if you have the same then I may upgrade to the metal ones.

Re: traded K1200R Sport for R1200R
I went from a K1200S to the R1200R. I thought I was alone in migrating in that direction, nice to see I have some company.
I agree, the R12R is an amazing bike and has all the power I need - I just had to learn to open the throttle wide again (something I rarely if ever did on the KS).

Looks nice!
I find the sportscreen adequate for my needs, and very pleasant on hot summer days!
(plus the bike looks much better with the sportscreen)
