Re: Old Fourm members
I've been around, not to active recently, since '07 I believe. My R12R only has about 20k miles but I usually run 3-5 bikes at a time.

Re: Tankbags?
I'm with psycle this one. I have both the engage and the city bags they are quality stuff and I like that the tank ring keeps the bag off the tank. I thought it was a little close on the aft end so I put a tank pad on just in case. I keep the engage on the bike most of the time for just day trippin ...

Re: May be my ABS?
Harald, I am the somewhat proud owner of a modulemasters rebuilt unit, although I've never seen it. Last year about the time my ABS fault light came on I had a fuel strip (number 4 or 5?) die. I took it to the dealer and unbelievably they volunteered the MM rebuilt unit vs an OEM one. They made it e...

I'm just envious that you got to go to the Springfield Mile..... [-o< Don't be envious, plan on joining us next year! Mrs. Easy and I have been going for close to a decade, I went a few time before we were married, it's a great time. We've got the town pretty well figured out, and the locals are do...

Re: Fuel Strip finally addressed by BMW..sort of
I had one replaced out of warranty while on a trip a couple years ago at Gateway BMW in St. Louis, MO. I contacted them three weeks or so ago and was told it would be a long wait and I likely wouldn't get all the money I spent, just what BMW covered. I got home today after a weekend trip to Springfi...

I formerly had a Wolfman Timberline that I attached by wrapping the front strap around the streering head, worked great.

Re: I just got the Trifecta of failures!!!!!
All right =D> =D> Here's the update: I picked up the bike yesterday after having all three issues addressed by Falcone Powersports in Indy. The fuel strip was covered under warranty. It was covered under the new SIB 16 002 14 (017) as Harry alerted us to in his thread. Yes it's good for 12 years fro...

My bike only has about 15,000 miles vs Dons 79k so obviously dbrick is correct, anything can break, at any time.

I just got the Trifecta of failures!!!!! Completion Update
So, a couple months back like many others I got the fuel pump recall letter and started thinking about when I could make my schedule work with the dealers to get this done, but I wasn't in a huge hurry. About a month ago I took the bike for a Saturday romp and noticed my brake failure light stayed o...

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip
Well my fourth strip just did a nose dive this week #-o A couple days later I was out for a ride and had a chance to drop by the local dealer so I went to the service dept to schedule a visit for the fuel flange recall and a new strip. The service manager and head service writer were at the desk and...

What Harry said, slipped on like butter. Got about 20,000 miles on it and am still pretty happy with the coating. It has discolored some but it looks better than the brown they were turning when I did it.

Re: Is normal to expect a cleaning with a 7K service
My RR has only been to the BMW dealer in Indy three times and has never been returned washed. My Harley has been to two different dealers once each. One dealer did not wash it prior to me picking it up. The other not only washed they did a complete detail of the thing, and it was only there for a 5,...

Re: Brake reservoir warning
Mine had similar weep a couple years ago and I too freaked thinking it was toast. I tightened the screw and pensively road it that way for a week or so. Then I forgot about it until I just read this. I think in my case it was a matter of the screws being a little less than snug, returning from a lon...

Re: CHP leaves BMW, goes back to H-Ds
In wery slow turns Iwould use 1st gear, engine brake and a very little brake use.I can not see really a clutch issue here. If you ever have the opportunity to go to a police bike rodeo competition you will get a sense of what the prior posters were talking about being in the "friction zone"...

Re: CHP leaves BMW, goes back to H-Ds
Heard that 30% of the Concourses had major electrical issues; cruising along and then bang....everything dead. CHP passes and went with HD I read somewhere on the net (must be true  ) that mother Kawi has suspended the LEO Connie because of this. Evidently the electrical system wasn't corr...

Re: replacement of oem heated handlebar grips
And the OEM grip heaters work right through the Grip Puppies Huh? If so that sounds like a deal. I have Gip Puppies on the R12 and my Strom it just takes a couple minutes for the heat to breakthrough. What I usually do on a day when I think I'll need them is turn them on low and let them "preh...

Re: R1200R Decal just too appealing
Thanks for your input guys. I checked out Max. $50 sticker is a bit much, even for BMW  Yes, I think I might just peel them off. If I knew the font they used I might be tempted with the local sign maker idea. See if they can digitize the font from a photo of the sticker, I think that is a do...

Re: Clutch (and Brake) Lever Upgrade?
I have Pazzo levers on my RR, the long ones, and love them. They have a good bit of adjustment and are HIGH quality, great fit and finish. I had a set of the short Pazzo's on the Z1000 I owned a couple years back an liked them equally well. The way those sat on the perch you could only use two finge...
