Same goes for me. I've only had my roadster for about 2 yrs and 12k miles. Which means I use it as more of a commuter than anything, but what better machine could you pick to ride to work on, and then take on a nearby canyon ride for a little playtime? Someday I may even put more time in the saddle ...

Actually, with a little welding, some hammering to make it fit, and paint to match, that engine would be awesome in an atv/quad.

Hmm, I guess Im a rounder. Living in Phoenix I ride if its not raining. I dont like getting caught in the rain on the bike, we have these nasty storms that roll in. It starts with a dust storm, then the lightening, then the rain kicks in usually with gusto. Other than that I ride.

I think it depends on how scuffed the case lids are. When I layed my bike down the left case broke free upon impact and the case skidded on the lid. Wasnt no hiding that. I tried to make it blend in, but it was pretty obvious. In the end I was forced to buy a whole new case when the scuffed up one d...

I have a z6 on the front and a pilot road on the rear. The pilot has over 10k on it and still has lots of life all though it is showing signs of squaring off. Being as though both tires are of similar construction and tread design, I will go with the pilots on the next tire changes.

Sounds like you made a wise choice. I have now had my R for 1.5 yrs, and have put on half of the 21k miles, I bought mine used. No problems so far. I had to sync the throttle bodys 1 time, and other than regular maintenance such as oil changes, new tires and valve lash checks its been a trouble free...

Take comfort in the fact that you are not the first person to forget to put the side stand down, and most assuredly wont be the last. A friend was on a ride in a group that included the manager of a local bmw dealer, when they stopped for lunch the guy forgot to put the sidestand down on the gs he w...

I had a custom Bill Mayer Saddle made for mine. Had him make it taller than the stock seat as well as molding it to fit my riding position. I've heard nothing but good from the guys who buy Sargents, Russells or Corbins, but they are basically one size fits all, unless you pay extra to tweak it. Not...

I ride in some of the hottest temps you'll find this side of the world. The Phoenix valley. I dont encounter any of those problems, maybe the tb's need to be synched. My buddy has an 04 r1150rt he had to re-synch his bike with less than 5k on it for the same type of issues, rough running and prone t...

Yeah, peer pressure to keep up. I think about some of the stupid stuff Ive pulled because of the people I was riding with. We had a cop chasing us for miles on one occassion until we cut off the road and onto a trail thru a swamp, of course this was in the 70's and we were all on enduro type bikes. ...

I must truly be a redneck. I watch all those "stupid" motorcycle and car building shows. Including the hardtails show. I guess I try not to take any of them too seriously, and because I've had quite a bit of free time on my hands due to some surgery, I have probably seen em all. Good books...

Bob FV1, yeah it gets hot here in the valley dont it? The part about the dry heat always makes me laugh, I think about the t-shirts with the skeletons on it, that say... but its a dry heat! I usually commute to work on my bike, Ive been off for awhile due to health issues. Back in July the humidity ...

Daslimpet, very interesting comparison. Now, if my 94 exploder that I keep for rainy weather, and my off road excursions, yeah I actually know how to put mine in 4wd, would only get the milage that your altima does, commuting to work wouldnt be as cost efficient on the bike as it is for me. But at d...

Get used to it boys. If anyone has any wild dreams of gas prices going down, ever, again then roll over and hit the snooze button, catch some more zzzzzz's and dream on. I dont think it will ever happen. Big oil has been trying to raise our prices for yrs and make it stick. Looks like they achieved ...

When I turned 16, I licensed it, quit working to ride more often and modified it so it made a better dirt bike. My friends and I w...
