Thanks! I order a set of rim stripes in green; since they are removable, I figured I'd give a shot.
This bike keeps growing on me. Low-speed handling is surprisingly good. And it feels lighter than the Rock, although the actual weights are similar.

Re: The new green color.
Quick update: I picked up the bike today, and I am very impressed. It is interesting how different it feels from the Rockster, although they are similar bikes (naked). Here's what I found: - Ergonomics are still pretty relaxed, more so in the arms than the legs. The legs do feel more crowded than on...

Re: Turning a Rockster into a tourer
hey, big papa! Your Rockster has brought me nothing but joy. I love it, and you are welcome to take it for a spin any time you want. The reason why I am keeping it as a second bike is exactly because I know I will miss it if I sell it.

Re: Turning a Rockster into a tourer
touring is a personal thing, my rock has the bmw panniers so to tour i just pack the panniers fill up the tank and go. I find the wind pressure at 80 just balances my weight on the bars But saying that i wouldnt want to do the elephant rally on it. Very interesting point about the wind balancing th...

Turning a Rockster into a tourer
I just bought a new BMW K1200R, but I am keeping my Rockster. I am thinking about modifying my Rock (which is stock) to turn it into more of a touring bike. Windscreen, handlebar, etc...
Any suggestions? Please let me know some brands, web sites, etc.

Quick update: I bought the bike!
I put the deposit down today. The dealer should be getting the bike over this weekend, but unfortunately I won't be home until the next weekend! Can't wait to ride it. Now I need to figure out the second bike. I will keep a Boxer and the K, but it does not make a lot of sense to have two naked bikes...

Re: Edelweiss Tour 2009
Guys, I just came back from the Alps/Dolomites in a BMW, but it was a 3-series convertible :( Anyway, I climbed the Stelvio Pass and it was awesome. Lots of bikes. I am now considering the Edelweiss tour around New Zealand. Twelve days, seems amazing. And my birthday falls within the scheduled dates...

Re: The new green color.
Yes, that's me on the bike. I took this picture a few weeks ago, at the BMW Welt in Munich.
I don't know how anybody could hate this color! It's so cool.

Re: The new green color.
I am with those who are in love with the new K12R in Apple Green. My bike is a green Rockster (do you see a pattern?) I am actually pretty serious about buying the Apple Green K12R, but I really want to keep a boxer in my garage (I love that engine). However, it makes no sense to have two naked bike...

European tour
Guys, I have been seriously thinking about the June 2008 European Rally. I have been reluctant because I will be going alone and I don't know if the people ho will be there are good company. But, if you guys are talking about putting something like that together, I'd love to be in the loop. Thanks, ...

MOA European Rally in 2008
Hi,
I am seriously considering the MOA European Rally organized by Edelweiss for June 28. I would like to hear from anybody who may be participating on that rally too.
Thanks,
Flavio

Traveling to Honolulu in Feb
Hey,
I am traveling to Honolulu on February 2, and I will rent a Beemer while I am there. I would be interested in a ride around the island!

I had a BMW car before I got a BMW bike
I've owned a 540i, now I own a 745i. I've driven 3-series extensively. Picked up my 2004 Rockster yesterday. So, no matter what the weather is outside, I will be powered by the propeller badge
