Re: Odyssey Battery
CycleRob, I have kept my 2009 F800GS on an Optimate since new. When the original battery started showing "the signs" I duped it in favour of an Yuasa, being the best battery available here in the Philippines. Imagine my surprise when the bl@@dy thing quit on me in a mall parking lot almost...

Re: YouTube Video Installing Jesse Bags on a F800GS
Thanks Dan, very informative and good video. It was interesting to note that the hardware came pre-installed on your bags, unlike mine, a big plus. Thanks for taking the time to demo the process.Dan-A wrote:Here's yours truly installing Jesse bags on the F800GS.

Odyssey Battery
Does anyone know if Odyssey are going to produce a direct replacement battery for the F800 series. I emailed them the question but never got any response. I believe there is a big market waiting for them as a lot of people seem unhappy with the OEM battery.

Re: Leaky oil fill plug
There are 2 gaskets that need to be wiped off and reseated, preferably after smearing them with blue Permatex gasket sealer. The O-ring on the cap is the easy one. The other is on the outside of the filler neck seating against the valve cover. If you can, pull the entire filler neck straight up and...

Re: Diagram of Cable Ties?
Does any one know what is the 「edge protector」? Thanks Its a plastic gizmo that fits round the edge of the hole. Yo can use a bit of 3/16 plastic tubing, just slit it down its length, cut to length and push it on to the edge of the hole. If it does not want to stay in place then fill it with silico...

Re: Valve adjustment on higher mileage bikes
I would pull the covers and CHECK the valve clearances every 6K...usually the week after I changed the oil or just before heating it up for the oil change. It often needed no adjustment at all, but I would tinker with it to get it even closer. Then right after the valve check/adjustment I'd play wi...

I hear you Rob. For the purpose of a "switching tap" from a difficult area, it works for me.

For crying out loud, get a GD balancer, throw the beads and ride your bike. Thats about as easy as I can make it for you, unless you wish to continue this thread into perpetuity.

Re: Dunlop Roadsmarts, Dynabeads, brakes & vibration
The dot should next to the valve stem. Get a motorcycle wheel balancer ( try http://www.marcparnes.com/) Forget the beads. Smooth ride for sure.
