Re: Spline shaft lubrication time

I'd recommend you do a little research about the bushing replacements for the swing arm bearings. There have been some problems with the ones from rubber chicken garage (sorry I can't remember the particulars), but I was considering them and waited a few years to see if they were working and read s...

Re: Yes, Another ABS question

conclusion: last friday week i pulled up to grab a brisket sammich and a huge puff of smoke, over five feet spherical bloom billowed from the motor. This caused a rather hasty exit at i thought that i may catch fire with the bike. The cloud dissapated immediately, and upon further inspection i notic...

Re: swing arm bushings

there's these too.

i discovered those rubber duck ones in my swing arm when i replaced the fragged drive bearing. one side was beat up pretty bad, so i made sure it was rotated on a newer looking portion to pivot on.

thanks kirby for your third option

Re: Final Drive Additive?

In a word...NO. Getrag "clunking in everything from motos to giant trucks for 100years" inherent to the brand. Only surpassed by Harley clunkers! About the only thing that would "quiet" a getrag is saw dust or bananas. Getrags are very tough. All jokes aside, moly will not make ...

Re: R1150SR Project Touring Bike

OK, back to work tonight, rebuild kit for clutch slave cylinder came in, thought it would be easy, seems the piston seal decided it should be locked to the cylinder wall. Nothing would pull it out of that cylinder. Its counter intuitive but taking a socket and hammering in released it and it pushed...

Final drive big bearing fragged

Noticed some oil on the rear tire, and when i took the wheel off the seal came with it. I was lucky to make it home. Looked on parts fiche and all I found was a full rear end. no numbers for bearing or seal. I have the prowess to replace myself, just need a little direction as to what parts to order...

Re: Yes, Another ABS question

I changed the pads, made sure theres no bubbles in the system, brake switch adjusted correctly and functioning (brake light illuminates, can here a click at the brake brick when mashing the peddle, just no servo), battery fully charged up on the tender. Guess its time for a delete. I wish that guys ...

Re: Yes, Another ABS question

"left light stays on, and the right light blinks super fast" That's consistent with your statement that the brake pedal doesn't activate the electric power brakes / iABS systeem. One of the two systems is not passing the start up self test and is in residual mode, as BMW states in de manu...
