Mine's a 2002 R1150R. 37,000 miles and I'm just waiting for my clutch/transmission to fail. We've had this discussion before. Should I get rid now or hang on to the bike and wait for the inevitable? Having cleaned up the back end I've been monitoring it carefully over the last few days and it appears to have stopped. Will keep an eye on the bevel box oil level. Fingers crossed.

It's a weep not a drip.

Is it the gear oil in the bevel box, or is it coming from the engine end and seeping down the shaft?

Have contacted my favourite police bike mechanic. Hopefully he can sort it with me having to remortgage the house or sell a child.

Blimey. Sorry to hear about your 'off'. Glad your injuries were not worse.
Mine's an 02 1150R with 35k on the clock. Gearbox and transmission have been fine.
I too, would be interested in the result.

I'd love to have a go at that sort of work but in 40+ years of motorcycling I've discovered I'm quite good at taking things apart. Lousy at putting them back together. I wish I had a fraction of your skills and knowledge.
