Re: Well I may be joining your ranks sooner than expected....

Hope it works out for you [-o< Stories like these are not unheard of.....I sold my F800S with 430km & every accessory on the BMW brochure. Just so happened that the right person came along (obviously his planets were well aligned that day 8) ) and i was in the mood to sell. Enjoy the R! E

Wunderlich flooterset

Up until today - i had no idea what a "flooterset" was. Now i know; its a posh word for foglight! Well, after reading Don's in-depth review about additional lighting, i decided to order a set of these from Wunderlich: http://ellieeis.smugmug.com/photos/433472284_PkWH9-L.jpg In my opinion, ...

Re: Has anyone had their ASC activated?

In 10,000+ kms, i've experienced the ASC only once. It feels like a sudden and effective loss in power right up until the moment the rear wheel finds some traction; certainly not obtrusive & IMHO a welcome addition to the bike. I have never purposely tried to coax the ASC to activate - but even ...

Re: can't find MV Verholen risers for R12R

I was looking around for the MV Verholen risers for an R12R. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Do they exist and where can I find them? Thanks in advance. Re: Tire Recommendations

I was very happy with my road attacks as well - but i decided to try a different tire just for the experience. My front was completely worn out after 10,000km (and quite a few times @ the local go-cart track). The rear still had about 2 or 3 k left. So last Sunday i had a pair of Pirelli Diablo Stra...

Re: Advice on R12R fit for 6'2" with 35" inseam

I'm 6'1" with 34" inseam. The bike is great (with the tall seat) and even better with the Russell custom saddle. I usually have issues with my kneecaps on long rides - but none of these problems have (ever) surfaced with the R. So it would seem that the ergonomics are perfect for people of...

Re: Vario Levers

I had them on my F800S & K1200R Top class product. I have quite small hands (size 7 in the BMW glove), so reaching for the clutch/brake levers on the K12R was impossible (and downright dangerous) The Vario levers solved all the problems & they are 100% adjustable. I would let a BMW technicia...

Re: Again on seat

You can always go with Corbin. But their pan may OR MAY NOT fit your bike perfectly. I had a corbin for my R1200RT. It was stiff to install at first - but worked well once i learned how to click it into place properly and the mechanism loosened up. There are many people that had bad experiences with...

Russell Day Long - ALL DAY LONG!! (with pictures)

After a long wait, i finally received my day-long saddle. Workmanship is absolutely top-notch. The leather smells great, the heating elements warm my tush & the S/O is over the moon with her new "perfect fit" throne. She even said that its almost as comfy as the Goldwing - and i think ...

Re: Sport(small) Shield ?

I'm 6'1" (34 inseam & use the tall seat) and find the sport screen MUCH more comfortable than the BMW touring (tall screen) There are even times when i ride with the visor open (with glasses on, of course) & i really enjoy the nice clean air around my head. I tried riding with no screen...

Re: I ordered my new bike

I just ordered a 2009 Black R1200R with ABS, heated grips, computer, TPM, ASC, sport shield, clear lenses, bag mounts, low seat, lowered suspension with a centerstand. BMW must be offering shorter centerstands now because this wasn't an option before. I had to sell my 2007 R1200R last year but I sh...

Re: New tires = new bike

I found the following article in a UK magazine: http://ellieeis.smugmug.com/photos/359974121_LBABr-XL.jpg Since i have practically melted my Conti road attacks after numerous (mini) track sessions and some pretty hard road riding, i was looking for a good "winter" tire. The conti's were fa...

Happy Birthday :D Very nice diary. I would love to tour the states one day - and get away from some of the loony drivers over here! Shame i can't pack my LT in to my luggage and take it over there... ;) Anyway, I also celebrated my birthday last week. This morning, as a present to myself, i did this...
