According to my dealer, the 2011 does not use the strip.

Re: Will Vario risers deal with wrist pain?

I cannot be much help here. I just switched from a S1000RR to the R12... for me it is like sitting in an easy chair sipping good scotch by comparison :)

Good luck in any case. Be comfortable!

BMW agreed that I did have a fixable problem. Ill post another note if the replacement does not perform as expected.

Thanks all for the replies.

This happened after an old-fashioned rain shower, bike uncovered.

Porous 2011 seat (better look inside for an explanation)

The seat on my new 2011 R12 is accumulating water, which is slowly being squeezed back through the seams right where my thighs make contact with the outside edge of the seat. If one presses on the aforementioned seams, water will be extruded to the outside of the seat. Removing the seat, flipping it...

I was between bikes at the critical moment for this event, but I will not miss the next one. Morton's is the best dealer in the world! Rich From what Steve Anderson said - you're his best customer.. :) When he mentioned he had a customer who traded in the S1000RR for an R1200R - I just said "H...

My new ride

http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/CupOHemlock/DSC00371.jpg Metaphorically speaking, I have been to the motorcycling mountaintop... in a weird consumer sort of way. The one I sold to get this was a S1000RR... that was the ersatz summit of the mountain. It was very exhilarating, even breath-ta...

Re: 100 Days Until Harriman Bash

I am planning to go. I now have a bike which is short on comfort for a 500 mile trek to the Bash, but I will manage somehow. I missed out last year and want to see my old riding buddies again.

Re: 2009 Beakster Bash - Fayetteville, WV - May 14-17

I want to go as well. I hate to advance financial woes as a potential excuse, but I will have to anyway. Oldest is headed to college, the house is suddenly worth less than what I owe, and not only will there be no raise this year, the cost of health insurance will actually contribute to a fiduciary ...

Re: Bashing the Bash

I missed seeing this post earlier, and as one of the two K12S bikes at the Bash, I feel I must chime in. I had the pleasure of a K1200R prior to the S and it was (is) a fabulous piece of Teutonic engineering. I always preferred the naked bike and for some reason felt the wind on me and the elements ...

Re: L'Beakster Bash 2008 Re-cap

I had a great time at the Bash! The weather was not overly good, but the company was... even the guys from LonggggIsland. I used my Official Bash Thermos today too. I hope we have an excuse to get together before the next Bash, but if not I have lots of good memories to rely upon... except the rain ...

Home safely as of 13:30

I got pelted with rain from shortly after leaving the Bash until I got to Gettysburg. I stopped there to dry out and drink something hot. Unfortunately that was all the delay necessary for the rain to arrive there. So I had to endure rain types 1,4,8,13,17, and 105 all the way to the MD/VA line. I h...
