Re: What’s on everyone’s agenda for 2022?

at 10,000 that’s mega miles for a rider if you were in the uk. Even I wish I had the time to sit on a bike that long!! Lucky😉 I used to do 25-30,000 a year. About 20-23K was commuting, the rest leisure, and it wasn't all day riding, but just an hour or two 'most' weekends. That’s still a lot James ...

Re: Changed the final drive

Rockster is 31/11 (2,82) R1100S is 33/12 (2,75 R1150r is 31/11 R1150RT 32/11 Less than 3% difference. Does show up in 6th gear roll ons w/the bit lower ratio but on a track day un- noticeable. A little more top speed at the rev limit with the 2.82. Interesting - the Rockster has a different top gea...

Re: Changed the final drive

Is your bike an R1150R or a Rockster?

I can't remember offhand which final drive ratio the Rockster has, don't know if it's different from the R-R or not.

What bike was the new FD from?

Re: February

Well I didn’t have a super electronic hot inner jacket until recently but bloody hell what a piece of kit I should have had years ago. Which brand? I recently (well - 3 years ago now!) swapped my (massively over-bulky) Keis heated gilet for a 'Warm-n-safe' heated base-layer which uses less energy b...

Re: February

Both my F800gt (2013) and R9T (2019) have std heated grips and both do the same fluctuations at tickover. It’s not really a problem but it’s interesting. You’d have thought bmw would have left a bit of leeway as realistically you’d expect to do long distance on most of any one of their bikes. Now s...

Re: February

I do notice that wearing a heated jacket makes my headlight fluctuate at tickover when reflecting on the car in front. Wonder as we kind of run on car looking alternators that we can fit a Bosch oversize unit to the bike subject to space?? If the bike came with the BMW heated grips it should alread...

Re: February

I need to sort out the 'extra' wiring on my bike too. My beloved pillion has expressed an interest in having her own heated garment for cooler days so I need to wire in a 2nd (more like 3rd?) relay for that along with a switch somewhere.

The list of jobs is never ending!!

Re: ABS removed, now to reroute the lines...suggestions.

Despite all of the palaver I suggest being super careful about painting callipers. I used the VHT caliper paint and followed the instructions to the letter. I found that I must have had a super slow leak at the banjo on the caliper. Despite its touted resistance to brake fluid it messed up the fini...

So - we're still here! My Rockster is now safely tucked up in the garage at our new house, I've charged the battery (came up to full within 24 hours, so I'm happy with that!) Haven't had a chance to do anything else yet, still unpacking boxes and trying to figure out where everything goes in the new...

The traffic issue is largely spam. I've attempted many different methods over the years from banning entire countries, IP ranges, DNS stuff, traffic routing/cloudflare, name types, membership criteria... but nothing works. Its spam. Blame the nerds in their underwear with nothing better to do than ...

I doubt it, "bandwidth" is the amount of water flowing through the river, how that is managed is only a tiny part of the flow.

Re: The December check in thread....

Thanks riceburner for that explanation. So far winter has not shown up here in any "quit ridding" sort of way but would be nice to get some rain in SoCal for sure. I have some rockster maintence plans to do later in the month that will take it out of riding status for a bit but needed. So...
