R1200R (2006-2014)

Kinda reads like a tomb stone. Just say'n. Just stopped in to see what's going on, and I see the label for the hex/cam heads dated, seemed odd.

MY R is gone, sold, I'm out

After 8 great riding seasons and nearly 54,000 miles I have sold my trusty roadster. I have followed this forum since the early 2000s when I bought my first new BMW, and have joined this site when it changed format, the R1150R was a beautiful bike and served me well for 6 seasons. On march 31st 2007...

Re: 2015 R1200R Water Boxer

It's bad that the telelever is gone, and to top it off, they give you a non adjustable off the shelf fork. Looks like it's going to need a really long fender extender to keep the crud off the engine too. Luggage mounts got ugly also. No center stand? Gained weight? 15hp gain is not a good trade for ...

Re: I just retired...

A little over ten years ago, I thought heavily about when I will say "when". My parents had a neighbor named Ted. Ted was in his 80's at that point, and had a fairly new Harley that he enjoyed riding as often as weather aloud. Ted was a motorcycle messenger in europe during WWII and very p...

Re: Corbin seat experience

Just got off the phone with the folks at Corbin, They still have me in their records, and if I pay for the shipping to them, they will pay for the shipping back. Their warranty is life time on the foam for the original buyer. The only problem is that it may take up to 4 or 5 weeks to get it back. so...

Re: Corbin seat experience

My corbin is 7 seasons and 45,000 miles old, and just recently I have noticed discomfort a lot sooner than I remember. When I first got the seat new, it was a HUGE diff from the oem seat. After 2 hours on the oem I would get wiggle butt, the corbin would keep me comfy for 5 hours before wiggle butt ...

Re: Fuel Strip (Again)

I had my fuel pump replaced on Saturday as per the recall, for 49,000 miles I have not had an issue with the fuel gauge on my 07, It has always worked as it should. After getting the pump replaced I noticed that after filling the tank the gauge was 2 bars short of full. Then today the low fuel light...

Re: Rubber parts deteriorating

I think the main culprit here is uv rays, I purchased a product from napa, Aerospace protectant 303, It has a spf 40 rating. Maybe Coppertone would be the thing to use....

Re: Rubber parts deteriorating

Well, I finally got around to replacing the paralever boots and the ball joint boot. All went well, did a lot of research and took my time, pretty easy job. Along with that, I just renewed the heated grips, all the fluids, spark plugs, brake pads, air filter and tires. Time to call the dealer to get...

Re: Could this be my clutch or something else?

I'd be think'n bad/contaminated gas too. Did You gas up just before this happened? At the very least I would try a healthy slug of seafoam or get rid of that tank of gas and try again. You might also want to look in the air intake too and make sure nothing is blocking the air filter.

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.

I've noticed that the final drive ratio in the R9T is the GS' 2.91 vs the R12R's 2.75. With the R9T's low weight and lower gearing it must be pretty snappy.

Re: Resale value ?

Thats what I'm feeling. Most likely I would be lucky to get 6 grand for the bare bike, sell the corbin for 300 and bags for 700.

Re: HEATED GRIPS REPAIR

I have a left heated grip off my 07 if anyone needs it, it was changed to match the right one that replaced a failed one, the rubber is worn(47,000miles)but the heat still works. Free to a good home if you pay for shipping and lunch.
