Re: True or false ?
You may not have to but, to really have the bike run at it's best it is recommended that the TB's be synched after valve adjustment. I think a lot of the bikes that did have a surge issue really did benefit from an accurate adjustment of both and are both part of the "regular" service int...

Re: disappearing post
R1100S do make more power than R1150R bikes. The R1100S have higher compression, more cam, better exhaust and the weird subframe was to adapt the K1200 6-speed to the R1100 motor, that aside, aftermarket shocks are a very noticeable upgrade to these bikes and IF you want better handling (meaning tur...

On the 4-yr old tire, hope it was discounted. Generally speaking you want the tires manufacturing date to be within 6 yrs, so if your going to ride it now, I wouldn't sweat it...

Re: Where to get Decals other than OEM
I think aftermarket will be a problem with these but I would say it's possible, I had this one made up special from phone pics and gave them some scaling dims but what you need to do looks, to me, to be significantly harder to do that way...

Re: Rockster Headlight Fairing on Japan Models
This Japanese headlight looks like what I'm doing for my R1150sR project bike (cheap ebay I'm adapting), I"m using an R1100S dash like the Rocksters and this Japanese version also looks like the R1100S front end and the lower fairing/cowl looks like the R1100S Boxer Cup Rep lower...

Re: Final drive bearings
I thought this was pretty good - http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-r1100s-r1200s-tech-forum/879397-final-drive-bearing-replacement.html Some have used and oven to get the bearing on, freeze for the other part, said bearing just about dropped on, this one does all the rear suspension bearings - http...

Re: new R1150R owner---best torque wrench range?
Tough to have just one but I have a suggestion to help you decide, AVOID using torque wrenches in the bottom and top 10% of their rated range, typically inaccurate, for example, I used to use a 36 ft-lb torque driver which went down to 3 ft-lb but torque calibration proved it was off, so we would co...
