MFW Vario pegs or Suburban Kit

Hello all, Going to lower pegs (knee injuries) and I am debating between the MFW Vario pegs with the 30mm extension or the Suburban kit. I'm probably going with the Vario (looks cleaner and seems adjustable to a point). Any thoughts from those that have one or the other? An fitment issues? Thanks in...

Low Suspension

Hello all, It looks like I will end up lowering my suspension but info seems fragmented. I am 5'7" with a 27" inseam. I have a 2007 with the low seat and I am on my toes when I stop. For those that have lowered their bikes with either the factory kit or aftermarket what are your impression...

Re: Driving Lights Advice Please

I run LightForce 140s mounted to my crashbars. Depending lense cover, bulb, etc you can use them for marker lights all he way out to flamethrower status. I put the clear fog lenses on and how I have them adjusted is so that I have a sheet of light out as far as my low beam out to the roadside on bot...

Re: Commuting Oversuit such as an Aerostich Roadcrafter Ideas

Couple years ago switched from a job that I could ride in uniform to a desk job. What i do now is try to preplan a little and when i drive in I bring extra sets of office clothes. That way when the moods hits I can ride to work and change once I get there without being worried about crinkled office ...

Re: Auxillary lights?

I use LightForce 140s mounted to my SW-Motech engine guards. Have them wired to an Eastern Beaver PC-8 fuse block. They are switched at the handlebars with a separate switch so I turn them on after I start the bike and can turn them off whenever. I attached the fog lense filters and adjusted them to...

Re: 3.0 Rear Drive

I didn't know we could change ratios like that. Does BMW have the gears or was this a custom one off type of deal? A little more mid range response at the expense of max top speed would suit me fine. :D

Battery Tender thru fuse box

Hello all, I have the EasternBeaver PC-8 fuse box but this question should also apply to the Centech (or other variations). I will be using the Battery Tender Plus this winter and I was wondering if I can hook up the pigtail to the unswitched port of the fuse box instead of directly to the battery. ...

LightForce Lights

OK, Finally finished my Honda set up as our "family" bike which means she will ride on it. So now I can turn my attentions back to the RR. I just put on a set of Hyper-lites on the rear (16 led version). I have an EasternBeaver fuse box on its way. Tonite will be ordering a Stebel air horn...

Crash bar mounting / Auxilliary light mounting

OK, 1) For those who have crashbars where do they attach? Do any of them attach purely to the frame? From what I have seen on the 1200r they all attach (at least at one point) to the engine itself. I want to get a some but the thought of attaching straight to the engine has me kind of leery. 2) Wher...

Re: Do engine protection bars cause damage??

I too am up in the air about this issue. I have hard crash guards and still do on my airhead but they bolt to the frame. I am concerned about bolting bars to the engine proper. ZTechniks has a new set of crash bars that they say bolt to the engine mounts. I e-mailed them to verify that they bolt onl...

Re: Newbie says hello and question about crash bars

Those Z Technik bars look nice. It says they bolt to the engine mounts so I take it they are not bolted to the engine proper? My main concern with crash bars on these bikes is that they all seem to bolt straight to the engine which kind of scares me off. But iff those bolt to the engine via the engi...

Re: question about the BMW panniers

I'll echo that thought that they should fit. When I got my bike last year they didn't have the bags in so they just took a set off to put on mine for the test ride. Also it looks like AS Cycles ? has the city lids now too!! They are on their web site and as soon as I have the cash they will be on mi...

Lift Points

OK, I have researched online and can't seem to find any definitive answers on this one. I just picked up a new table lift :D and I am trying to work out my lifting/jacking points on my R1200R. The rear is easy enough with the centerstand or use my scissor lift in that area but what about the front? ...

Re: Wunderlich 'R1200R Trophy' special / fairing

How about something like this? I had one on a Yamaha 650 twin and it was sweet. Don't know if it will fit the RR though. I am really itching though. My Cee Bailey works fine but to me it and others like it don't really look right to me. Wunderlich etc are hugely overpriced when JCW and others have s...

Nippy Norman's for me too. Cut off my shock protector so I can see the shock in there. Fender works great keeping the muck out and it adds to the looks of the bike.

Re: Mirror upgrade? Bar end mirror?

I've been using the Napolean bar end mirrors for years. First on my K75S and now on my RR. I think they look wierd but whenever I get on the bike I'm glad because field of view is excellent and no vibration even at speeds where the airflow is rather "robust" :D . They don't cost much at al...

Rear shock dirt shield removal

I am getting ready to install my Nippy Normans hugger today. Real nice piece, only took just over a week to get here from England. My question is how do you take the dirt shield off the rear shock? Is it permanently mounted to the shock so you have to cut it off? I know removal of the shield is not ...

Hello, Going to do a few things to the RR this year. I want to paint my windscreen (Cee Baileys). Does painting them degrade their physical integrity? I don't want to paint it and have it crack aprt under wind stress. Thanks :D

Belly Pan

Hello, Does anyone know if there is a belly pan available for our bikes that allows the use of the centerstand? I know there are one or two carbon fiber ones that are very expensive and don't look like they allow the use of the centerstand. But I remember seeing somewhere some pics of one that was b...
